My old HP ProBook has been gathering dust. Old, slow, 500GB hard drive... Took forever to boot up. It even has DDR3 memory! I decided to try making it useful on the cheap, so I bought this 1TB drive. The results are more than worth it. CrystalDiskMark has it as 10 times as fast as my old hard drive. The difference is amazing. It went from "Hit power button, go make cup of coffee, come back and log in" to "Hit power button, *blip* Log in". Every program loads faster, as well. So now it's been dusted and cleaned up and sits on my desk again, ready for daily use. I'm going to add more RAM, and will probably buy a larger FikWot drive for it, maybe a 2TB this time. Also, the SATA connector is pretty solid and doesn't flex like that expensive Crucial SSD did before it broke. Don't know how long it will last, but it's already lasted longer than that Crucial did. ... show more

I installed this SSD in a SATECHI Type-C Stand & Hub with SSD Enclosure bellow my M2 Mac mini and it was super easy. I am using it as my Time Machine backup drive and it is one fast little guy.     • Works great, but a minor serial number problem

The serial numbers printed on the drives don't match the serial numbers read electronically. Since I'm using a bunch of these drives (11) in a storage array, it's important to be able to identify drives by serial number in case a drive fails and needs replacement. I had to power my system up and down many times, disconnecting drives or adding new drives one at a time, to figure out how to label each drive with its correct serial number. ... show more
