Description

The Fielder's Dome Mat is an essential piece of softball and baseball training and warm up equipment for players of all levels and ages. The mat features two rows of domes that enable more deflections per practice session. Mat replaces the antiquated way of using objects for deflections. Becoming a great fielder requires specific skill sets of increased agility, hand-eye coordination, glove positioning, and reaction times. The unpredictability of the deflections and bounces challenges players to field every ball. Its final design was based off field testing by professional players. Great for team or individual drills. The mat is also perfect for training facilities as a coaching tool. It is easy to use. One player, coach, or parent rolls the ball towards the mat on a flat surface with a sweeping motion close to the ground (we recommend the roller be on one knee). Roller positions themself in front of the mat from five feet (entry level players) to10 feet or more (for advanced players). The fielder positions themselves behind the mat about five feet or more depending on the speed of the rolls. 20 – 30% of rolls will miss the mat – this is part of the design – so that there is some unpredictability. Comes fully assembled of durable poly material and rubber domes and is portable and easy to use. Works on artificial turf, manicured natural turf, packed clay, wood gym floors or concrete (is not suitable for typical long grasses found in backyards such as St. Augustine or Bahia but works well on concrete or asphalt driveways).
