Our ice maker in our Samsung French door refrigerator broke a while ago (a known issue.) I've been using a large food storage container to hold ice and that wasn't ideal. The large lid had to be removed and set aside to access the ice. I like that this bin has an easy access lid, yet is still covered so crumbs and spills can't get in the ice. It fits perfectly in the freezer drawer and works great as an ice bin with a little ice scoop! (I had to get a new scoop because the regular metal ice scoop I had was too large to comfortably scoop ice through the opening.) The bin holds around 10 of those trays of ice. It also fits in my RV freezer. (I got those awesome silicone-covered ice trays from Amazon, too! See my review on those.) I like that it came with an extra handle in case one gets broken, too. It feels pretty solid and not flimsy, but it still seems a bit overpriced for a small bin of this size. It was the only one I could find that had everything I was looking for AND in the right size, otherwise I probably would have given it 4 stars for the cost. I couldn't see using this for dog food, but I have 2 boxers and buy their dry food in 60 lb bags. Our bin for their food is about 5 times bigger than this, holds an entire bag of food and has wheels, lol!

I bought this to put my rabbit’s food in. I was very surprised how sturdy it was. I love that it has a see through lid that snaps shut. I can see how much food is left. It came with a cup to scoop the food out. I love that it has handles on the sides to pick it up. Very nice item. I might buy more for my rabbit’s treats. I also like that it has a small area that you can store extra items in on top. Very pleased with this!! It also has an inside area to store an item to keep the food fresh. It held an 8 pound bag and a 5 pound bag of rabbit food. Highly recommend

Love this. It fits perfectly on top of my dogs crate and holds about 2 weeks of food before I need to refill. I love that its clear so I can clearly see how much food I have. The design is so beautiful I absolutely love it. Its kept my dogs food fresh as well, I haven't noticed it going stale. It has like an easy to open lid which is amazing so I don't need to screw something off and comes with an extra latch in case it breaks.

We do a lot of baking and wanted something that could house our egg substitute that was easier to scoop out of. Yes, I know they say this is for pet food, but I would submit it works great with any kind of powder as well. Very clean design, no sharp edges, and buttons the contents up tight to maintain freshness and keep bugs out. A very useful kitchen addition.

This is really nice. Been having trouble with moths getting into my bird food. I really like the easier access with the hinged door. Def have to make sure the side latches snap closed all the way. Only have about 4.5 lbs of food left and it holds it with extra room-start out with about 9 lbs of food. It even comes with a chip and extra hinge. Thinking about getting smaller ones for their treats

This bin is almost perfect for use as an ice bin. I was looking for an airtight bin that would hold a 7 lb bag of ice without too much extra space (freezer space is limited), and keep it from getting smelly and tasting gross. After reading many, many reviews, and comparing (tiny, non-airtight) ice bins, I decided I was going to have to get a grain or pet-food bin. This one seemed to be my best option. So far, it seems to perfectly hold a 7 lb bag of ice and keep it from smelling or tasting bad. It's easy to open with one hand, and the included cup/scoop is nice. I do recommend lining it with a paper bag to absorb excess moisture and prevent the ice from becoming a giant clump. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the weird and unnecessary divot in the top (I think it is meant to hold cans of food, but I wouldn't want it there even if I was using this for pet kibble). It takes away from interior space.
