I went into this project with a bit of trepidation after going through a "simple" bunk bed build which turned into a whole day misadventure. But, as it turned out, this 59 year old arthritic woman who has never built a file cabinet before got it done without assistance in 2 hours. Naturally, I deviled myself and had to fix a couple of "should have watched the video a little more closely" mistakes. And by far the very best part about this cabinet is that is was forgiving of those mistakes and only required a couple of bolts being undone and redone correctly. Like some of the other commenters, my drawers would not shut completely, but that was quickly remedied by using the key to unlock the drawers so that they would shut. Overall, I am quite pleased with this cabinet, and should I need another, I will purchase another one of these. The file cabinet is best described as medium duty and weight -- it not commercial office grade -- and is perfectly suited to handle home office needs. I purchased the white cabinet, which is not a bright white, and has light gray undertones, so that it matches with everything (you can see the contrast between the white toe kick and the cabinet in the picture). The drawers slide smoothly, it comes with 2 keys, and looks very nice. It also can hold two rows of legal size folders facing outward, which was a big selling point for me. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO TO SUCCEED IN BUILDING THIS CABINET IS TO WATCH THE VIDEO (IT IS POSTED AS ONE OF THE PHOTOS IN THIS AD). I watched it before starting the build, and then watched it frame by frame as I was building the cabinet, and believe that is why I was able to put this together relatively easily (again, the only issues I had, I caused). I ordered two of these and they both glide very smoothly and the locking mechanism is great. One did come with a few scratches but they were in the back so didn’t matter. The other had some denting on one of the side panels but I was able to smoothe that out and bend back the connecting piece. Overall I would order again if I was in need for more file space. I'm very happy with this purchase. The shipping weight of 82 pounds indicated to me that it is an adequate gauge metal for a cabinet of this type, and the weight played a part in my decision to order this one. Sturdy and high-quality materials used. I was afraid the competitors' lighter-weight (and less-costly) cabinets would be flimsy. It was carefully packed for shipping; packed for size-efficiency and protection from damage. This also means the parts weren't packed in the order of assembly. So your first step would be to unpack and sort parts by the labels. Assembly instructions are easy to follow. It took me about three hours but I wasn't rushing it. I definitely recommend anchoring it to a wall to prevent tipping when the upper drawers are opened. I didn't use the wall anchors provided because I couldn't mount it flush to the wall. I have it in-front of a window with curtains, so I used a metal strap as shown in the third picture so it could stand a few inches from the window to allow the curtains to fall behind it. I drilled three holes into the back of the cabinet (probably a bit overkill) where needed near the center and used the three extra sheet metal screws that came with the assembly hardware. I used my own drywall screws into the window sill, and my own metal strap. The drawers are on full-extension rails that make it easy to get to the rear-most files. The drawers are mounted securely to the rails and cannot pop loose like the sliders in cheaper cabinets. The safety interlock works well that prevents opening more than one drawer at a time. And the one lock, locks all three drawers. The width allows for two columns of hanging letter-sized folders, and the center gap is handy for storing office equipment like calculators, staplers, postage scales. If you use legal-sized folders this center gap will be smaller. Overall I'm very happy with the quality of the materials and sturdiness of the cabinet and drawers. ... show more

Ordered this 4 drawer cabinet after 3 years of pilling documents around the house. Delivery was not great, was marked delivered a day earlier. I searched and asked neighbors after reviewing my security camera footage and not seeing anyone attempting to make a delivery, there was no package to be found. Contacted seller the following day, they contacted me back and apologized for whatever happened, and they immediately contacted their logistics office and had a replacement shipped. Package arrived 5 days later in good condition. And yes, it is a heavy cabinet. Assembly did took me 3 hours, I was not rushing around it. Cabinet uses bending tabs and screws for assembly, threw me off for a minute, but never had put one together before. Nothing hard except for tabs, had to use a flat heat to start them, and then used the screwdriver handle to push tabs flat. WARNING: self tapping screws, they are sharp, do not overestimate them! Glad I finally made this purchase....now to have fun organizing and filling 3 years worth of documents....gah... ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I originally gave this a 3 star review because when I finished assembling it the top drawer wouldn't close all the way. After playing with it I realized that the drawer was not pushed down all the way. They kinda have to snap down. The 2nd picture is after I realized where I went wrong. I also had a issue with the lock but after watching the video I figured that out as well. I did contact seller and they replied quickly and told me what I had already figured out. All in all good value for the money. And not to bad to assemble. It looks like a lot but once you start it's not that bad. ... show more
