This flat-packed file cabinet is better than the price point suggests. It was easy to assemble, sturdy, and makes my under-the-desk storage more organized. Frankly, I used to have a lot of bent, bowed, folded, crumbled, marked paper - and now I have specialty paper stored in a condition that can be put to work. I also love that even with the wheels, it fits under my desk. Drawers move smoothly. Black finish disappears under the desk in a good way (unlike the rickety stack of messy paper that was there before). My negative? The inside of the drawer is only 15 1/4" wide, which means that a drawer will not hold two pieces of 8 1/2 x 11 side by side; if they had made the inside diameter of the drawer two inches bigger I would have been over the moon! The piece is big/wide without adding the extra benefit of more efficient paper storage. Now, I store envelopes alongside paper (it's not the end of the world, it just could be better). This review could have taken a darker turn but they have GREAT customer service! When I was assembling the piece, I discovered one piece was mis-drilled. No one wants to disassemble and repack a cabinet for a return... NO PROBLEM! My email was promptly responded to and the part was immediately shipped to my house - as part of an entire replacement unit. Clearly, this was a one-off error because the second build did not have any mis-drilled pieces and went together quickly. Very pleased. I would buy from this vendor again.

This is a very nice cabinet, and I'm glad I purchased it instead of some other flimsier options I was considering. I just needed something to organize my paint supplies, with drawers deep enough to hold the tubes of paint so I could easily see what I had while sitting down. If you don't want to have to assemble something or you have a hard time following written instructions, this might not be for you. It took me 3-4 hours to assemble it, taking my time to make sure I was doing things correctly. There are A LOT of pieces, a lot of hardware, and multiple steps. However, on the plus side, all parts were clearly labeled, and the instructions were very clear, with large enough print and pictures to make it easy to see. It even came with a Phillips screwdriver (although I used a slightly bigger one that was easier for me to grip) and a baggie of spare parts! The drawers glide smoothly on their rollers, and it looks like it will be very easy to wipe clean. Plus, it has casters to make it easy to move around as needed. The very last step in the instructions was to attach some plastic "buckles" to the back, which I skipped. I'm not really sure what their purpose is, as everything seemed to be complete. The price has dropped by $10 since I bought it, making it an even better deal for someone looking for a 5-drawer cabinet of this size.

Not to buy this product!!!! I bought two of these cabinets and put both together. The second cabinet had two missing parts. the number (9) were missing from the box. I attempted to contact the company for replacement parts of the number (9) part, which is the right side drawer side piece. The MFG only sent one piece. I contacted the MFG again, and they sent entire new boxed unit. This unit had half of the parts missing, I contacted the MFG again, and explained the problem, and what parts were missing. The customer serve person helping me said that I need to get a refund from Amazon. I explained again what specifically the Parts needed, and that the return window for Amazon closed on October 12th. The customer service person responded that they are not going to send out another unit, and that I should return the item that ordered to Amazon for a refund. Again I replied specifically that I needed one number ( 9) right side drawer piece to complete the assembly of the cabinet, since it was the MFG fault for not including the part. The response from the MFG, get a refund from Amazon. This is customer service at it's worst. I have to assume that there is no QC to co periodic spot checks to avoid unpleasant issues such as this has become. I will attempt to contact them again for the replacement part. They are decent cabinets, but the QC, and customer service is non- existent. I would suggest that Amazon not carry this product ever again due to these issues. Thank you for time.

I got this for my home office. Instructions are easy to follow. Simple and basic design. It is the perfect height for my needs - I got the 7 drawer version. Goes together fairly easily. The included hardware works well enough. I used wood glue on the dowels to improve the sturdiness. It is fairly solid from that additional step. Drawers slide well enough. It is on the cheaper side, but for the money it works quite well for my needs. I did not put on the wheels as I did not need it to roll around. I may get the 5 drawer version to slide under my desk, but I have not decided if I need more drawer space. Overall 4/5 stars - mostly because it is particle board. But that is why it is so cheap. I purchased this for my sewing room and I love it! A few things to note... 1) There's lots of pieces of hardware; however, they are all packaged and labeled so you know exactly what you have. I always compare with the parts lists when buying furniture that needs assembly and I can attest that everything was included PLUS they is a few extra of the hardware pieces. I liked that! 2) The instructions came in a booklet. In my booklet, the pages were out of order. For example, the 1st instruction step upon opening of the booklet was step #15 instead of #1. My OCD couldn't handle just flipping pages back and forth to find the correct step I was actually on and since I make small booklets at work, I knew exactly how to fix. Remove staples, find the correct page order and re-staple. Whalla! After that, putting it together was fairly simple. And 3)The only thing I wasn't sure about was the very last step of attaching a plastic buckle piece (labeled "G") into the backside. There was no clear instruction of exactly how to place them nor was there any explanation of what their purpose is. The cabinet is all finished up to that point, so I just left mine off. I think it'll be just fine. Time will tell though. I also chose to not install the wheels and instead purchased some 4" legs and used those instead. That was easy to do, but did have to pre-drill some new holes for the screws. All in all I'm VERY satisfied with this purchase and will definitely order more as needed!

I’m always looking for products like this but most are cheap plastic or the sizes are too small to be useful for my situation. I’ve been looking for something to store large spools of embroidery thread. This looked promising and when it came in, I was pleasantly surprised at how durable these product is. It’s the perfect height for my needs, assembly does take some time but it’s pretty straightforward. You’re going to do the same task 7 times in a row for each drawer but all parts are clearly labeled. I’d suggest having two people to build it just because some pieces need to be held up in position while getting screwed together and that could be challenging without an extra set of hands. Drawers slide in and out smoothly. Wheels are durable and roll smooth. Just a really well built product. I’ll probably purchase a few more shortly to replace the sterile drawers I have.

The design of the cabinet is perfect, I love the overall look, but it is not a good quality piece. I purchased it for my art supplies but I am not sure if it will hold up. It is almost like cardboard or very light weight material. I don’t think it’s wood. There are so many little pieces and it takes a long amount of time to assemble.

cons: -this thing weighs a ton! But I knew it would, being particle board. -I was a little intimidated when I opened the box and saw how many pieces there were. -castors are cheap plastic. Again, I expected that and will replace them easily with better ones when they start to annoy me enough. -there was a slight mark on the top. It's almost imperceptible after I worked at it with a magic sponge. pros: -Fits well under my desk -It has actual sliders for the drawers that were well marked and assembled without difficulty. -extra hardware was provided! Of course I didn't drop and lose a screw this time. But it is a statement of the manufacturer's commitment. -All pieces were clearly marked and accounted for. -Assembly and alignment went easily. Instructions provided both pictures AND words. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. It is functional for my needs and is quite sturdy for indoors. It isn't Ethan Allen, but it is exactly what I needed. While I listed my complaints above, the finished product is well within my expectations for the price I paid.
