Very happy with this purchase. But do remember you get what you pay for. A HON or similar quality 2-drawer file cabinet can sell for $200 or more brand new. Even a second-hand dinged-up model can go for $100. But for the money this is a decent buy. Plus: * Good price and free shipping. * Arrived in great shape and on the day after I ordered. * Drawers work fine. * Handles took 5 minutes to attach. * Biggest selling point for me: these files are shorter than your average cabinet which means they can fit under a standard office table. Not all 2-drawer files can do that. * Very lightweight. I could carry two of them up two flights of stairs by myself without huffing and puffing. * They have a working lock. Cons: * They are made of lightweight material, probably aluminum. They could be dented easily if dropped, banged or kicked. * Lock is basically a joke. I used to have a cat who could manage to open my file drawer if I left it even slightly ajar and get at the catnip I stored within. This would stop the cat if I locked catnip into the file. But nothing much else. Will stop your neighbor from snooping if you let him hang out in your office while taking a leak. Nothing much more than that. * Drawers are "only" 18-inches deep. That's shorter than most but I have seen some as small as 12-14". Still holds a fair amount of stuff and, again, if you only have a small space for it, or you want to place it under a standard office table and need space under it behind the file, the 18-inch depth can be a selling point. * The drawer doesn't come out fully so if it's packed you might have a small challenge accessing the files in the very back. * The file can be top heavy if you fill the top drawer first or with heavier materials. The box itself even warns you about tipping it over. Of course, this applies to any file cabinet but heavier ones have more inherent stability than this one. * I wish the handles came attached as it does take about 10 minutes fiddling with a Philips screwdriver to put them on. (I bought TWO of these units.) No big deal. I don't see where others have claimed to had troubles doing it, or that the screws didn't "seat" fully. I had no need for a washer or anything, just a bit of elbow grease and a flashlight. ... show more

The file cabinet is nice for the price you pay! Only thing is i went crazy looking all over for the keys. They put the draw hardware in a nice little bag but the keys were stuck behind the draw. Once i picked the cabinet up and tilted it a few times i could hear the keys!!!! Put them in bag and tape bag shut to bottom of draw! ... show more

I got this, because my "real" file cabinet (a 4-drawer, fireproof) is in storage, and I would have to hire movers to bring it to my home, which is also lacking in space from my previous home, so this two-drawer file cabinet is just wonderful. I like that both drawers lock and that it accepts the hanging-type file folders, as I prefer the hanging folders ... they seem much easier to keep in a nice neat arrangement. ... show more

We love the cream color. It was easy to pup the handles on with two people. We were shorted two screws so we had to hunt wto from our screw collection. The keys are at the right top corner inside the drawer. It looks so meet and clean. Pleased with our. Purchase.

I have a desk extension next to my computer and this file cabinet fits very nicely next to my paper shredder under the extension. (Measure twice, order once.) Maybe now I'll actually file papers! ;-) Received the cabinet earlier than I expected, well packaged, perfect condition. I had the handles installed in 15 minutes (took me 10 to find the right size Phillips...too big and it will strip the screw heads). Yes, it took some pressure to screw the handles on, but my guess is they won't come loose. The keys were hanging on the lock in the bottom drawer. Lock turns easily. If someone wanted to break in to this cabinet badly enough, they could, but that's not my concern. This cabinet looks nice, fits a convenient space that is easily accessible to me, and that's what I was looking for in a file cabinet. :-) ... show more

Bought for extra filing, it looks good and is compact. Drawer handles are easy to install, but screws are weak material so use right size Phillips screwdriver, and be careful, metal of the screw head slots easily deform. The lock is not strong like high quality office files. The keys were not packaged or secured, and nearly fell out of the gap in the bottom of the box. ... show more
