Description

Drawing from a storied legacy of reimagining the acoustic experience for daring and adventurous players, California Series acoustics stand out as authentically different, undeniably timeless, and quintessentially Fender®. The California Debut™ Redondo® features resilient laminate construction with a spruce top and basswood back and sides for satisfying tone, while a 25 ½” scale neck with a slim “C”-shaped profile provides an effortless playing feel. Other noteworthy details include an oiled walnut fingerboard and bridge, sealed-gear tuning machines for smooth and accurate tuning action, and a rich satin finish. An instantly recognizable Fender design feature, the 6-in-line headstock creates a straight string pull from the nut for optimal tuning machine performance, and places all tuners in a linear location for easy access. • High Quality Guitar and a Very Fair Price
Color: 2-Tone Sunburst Style: Guitar Only
My son was struggling with a used guitar that hurt his fingers. He says this beautiful Fender is so comfortable to play, and he loves that it stays tuned for a long time. The sound quality is rich with beautiful frequencies, and the matte color is unique. He likes that it doesn't show fingerprints.

  • Beautiful guitar
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
Wonderful beginner guitar. Have played for over twenty years and seen a lot of terrible low end guitars. This is not one of them. Beautiful craftsmanship, sound quality is amazing as well for the price point. I am in love with this little thing! Will more than likely have an aftermarket pickup installed for the perfect acoustic/electric! Action was already at a great level. Had stopped playing for a while but picking back up on this has been a blast. ... show more

  • You can't go wrong
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
For what is supposed to be considered a "starter" guitar due to its' price point; this thing comes in at a much higher quality than expected. 41 years of buying/playing guitars I've kept 24 of them (this one being #23). I have high end, mid range, and affordable guitars---this California Debut Redondo fits right in with anything I have, quality wise. All I had to do with it is file some sharp fret ends (and oil the fretboard) to make it more comfortable to play; but winter time in Iowa will do that to any and all guitars at any price, being in a cold trailer and/or truck. The Natural looks amazing...couldn't tell you about the Black, or Sunburst ones. Priced right, Fender's 2 year warranty, stays in tune once the strings are settled in, and higher quality than expected...you got nothing to lose; get one. ... show more

  • Wait, no way
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
I mean for real, I received my guitar on the 15th, today is the 17th of sept 2025. I tuned it noodled around a little bit, checked the string action, then hung on one of my wall guitar hangers for 24 hours, then placed it on my floor stand for 24 hours to acclimate to my weather. Pros The guitar is very nice looking, no chips, no scratches, nothing wrong out of the box. Almost still in tune from the factory. 👍 Neck joint is really good. 👍 Neck came very straight, slight relief. 👍 String action, low E - 9 & high E -7.5 at 12th fret, first fret capoed 👌 Stings aren't the greatest, but sound good. Turners are inexpensive stock, run of the mill you would expect, but it stays in tune, after 48 hours, it was 2 cents sharp on the low E, B , & high E, come on, my epiphone les paul doesn't stay that well in tune for hanging up or in a floor stand for 48 hrs. Fret job, awesome 👍 I have owned $2000 Gibbons, and $1200 Fenders that the fret ends weren't as smooth down the neck and 0 string buzz or high frets. I have had to do a fret end polishing. Whether a filing, sanding or something, on the frets on just about every guitar I have owned (im 65 I've owned a few guitars in my life) Neck has got to be the fastest neck on any guitar I've owned right out of the box. 👍 Who ever set this up at the factory needs to get a raise in pay. CONS Body material is quite thin (but who knows it might stay without warping for years ?) Plastic nut, (but cut right) Plastic bridge ( good height ) Inexpensive tunners ( buy stays in tune, literally for days) Frets need to be polished Fretboard needs oil, really dry Conclusion Would I recommend this for someone's first acoustic guitar, definitely a yes, even a experienced player that wants a good sounding guitar you don't have to worry about banging up around the house or on a camping trip. I wish my Harmony was as playable as this is ( my first guitar was a Harmony, plus I grew up in Redondo Beach, so, you know the name got to me, I had to check it out first, over the Fender FA-25 for the same price ) "Keep on playin" ... show more

  • Needs a bit of TLC but good bones
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
I got this as a gift for someone and it had brutal action out the box. However once I adjusted it, the guitar was much more playable and listenable. Pretty solid for the price and looks great for beginners. If you adjust the action and change the strings upon receiving it would be a great starter guitar. ... show more

  • Love the style, sound, and all around feel of this beauty!
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
Love this guitar! I haven't stopped playing it for months now. The feel is exactly what I remember from a past play experience. The sound is crisp and clear, haven't tried thicker gauge strings yet, been sticking to the same size as original that came stock, but honestly I like how it sounds with smaller gauge strings. Beginners and long time players alike will enjoy this one just trust me! ... show more

  • Pretty great
Color: Black Style: Guitar Only
I’ve seen a lot of reviews where the guitar showed up broken or damaged but I was pleasantly surprised and the guitar is perfect! It was set up, the tuners are good and it sounds great 10/10 for a $125 guitar

  • Nice starter guitar
Color: Natural Style: Guitar Only
My (11 year old) grandson has decided he wants to play guitar. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for him. The guitar came nicely packaged and was in perfect condition out of the box. It has a nice open pore type finish although since it's all laminate, I'm not sure it will make a difference with the sound. It's a very light guitar suitable for a young person. The action is very low. As he learns and gets some experience he'll develop his own opinion on such matters, but for now it's perfect. It took very little pressure to barre a cord let alone hold individual strings down. The frets feel smooth and there are no sharp ends. Although this is a very attractive guitar the sound you get from it is equal to its price. I think a string change will do it wonders. Speaking of strings, the high E string broke right away. ... show more
