Description

Well known as the Grammy-winning founder of influential U.S. punk band Rancid, Tim Armstrong is also well respected as a producer and indie label owner. But as a songwriter, he has always turned to his old Fender concert-style acoustic for inspiration. The Tim Armstrong Hellcat is based on Armstrong's own classic instrument, with modern appointments including high-quality onboard electronics. A great guitar for pop, rock, folk and more, it has a solid mahogany top for especially sweet sound and a satin-finish maple neck for smooth playability.

  • Fender makes an very very NICE GREAT QUALITY INSTRUMENT
Style: 6-String (Left-Handed)
It's beautiful and that Fender Wildcat guitar is not only acoustic but also equipped for adding an amplifier for those that love the sound of an electric guitar. It is left handed absolutely beautiful and worth a lot more in the music shops in my town. Folks it would make an awesome gift a memory for years yo come and the sound is beyond words, such richness and beauty of the acoustic. Great gift for the up coming Holidays especially for s lover of quality sound and the radiance of A FENDER WILDCAT at such s very low price. I thank the person that sells and picked such beauty completely and for the price and Amazon for offering the best of those folks that search for true quality in their products. THANK YOU BOTH. Forgive my mistake in the name it is a Fender Tim Armstrong He'll cat. !!! ... show more

  • Lefty's dream guitar
Style: 6-String (Left-Handed)
The pictures don't do justice to looks, it's a beautiful looking, contrast to the body and neck woods. installed battery, turned strings in with onboard tuner,NICE! plugged into amp to make sure everything works as it did great sound. Unplugged acoustic -unreal! Yea the fisher electronics is awesome, but I was looking for a certain sound and this has it. The second thing I needed was an easy action and man!-I could not put this guitar down. Right out of the box, played put it down, played, I thought my imagination was gone. But man, the action is fantastic. Being left handed was the #3 and Tim and Fender got it right.HELLCAT yea! ... show more

  • Something was missed!
Style: 12-String
Something (inspection ?) was missed before shipping. I only rate the example I received. First: This guitar couldn’t be tuned or played. The truss rod was so tight that all strings were resting on the fretboard. With 50 years experience I was okay adjusting the truss rod. With the truss rod properly adjusted, the B and E strings were still resting on the frets. Looks like the saddle was installed backward! Lastly the fret ends were so sharp as to scrape my skin and could be felt as I tried any chord shape. I have to think/hope that this example is an anomaly. Shame on whomever released this thing with the Fender name on it. ... show more

  • great guitar under $700
Style: 12-String
Was pleasantly surprised with this guitar. Had it in tune 20 minutes out of the box. Sounds beautiful and is easy to play for a 12 strings even on the higher frets. First mail order acoustic I've really enjoyed and can recommend.

  • Extra hole at a lower cost!
Style: 6-String
Took a gamble and ordered “Used Like New” to save some dough. Couple of blemishes and a little hole that looks like someone missed the mark when trying to plug it in, but doesn’t affect the sound quality! Still a GORGEOUS looking and sounding, very playable guitar with action like an electric. *note: the preamp is different than the one in the pictures, but gets the job done ... show more

  • BLOWN AWAY!!!!
Style: 12-String
I really did not have high expectations for a budget 12 string guitar... I almost returned it day one... I did need to do a bit of set up on it, graphite the nut slots, adjust the intonation slightly, & re-tune... since it was 12 new strings.... But after the strings settled (probably 8-12 times re-tuning) & 5+ hours of play.... WOW!!! I never owned or played a 12-string that had NO BUZZING FRETS all the way up the neck. I absolutely love this guitar! I immediately installed my Tonewood amp & this thing sounds magical. I would suggest ordering some lighter gauge, better quality strings to make it easier to play for longer periods of time but... WOW. I highly suggest this guitar... I enjoy this as much as my Taylor & Gibson guitars... I have never said that about anything this low cost. ... show more

  • I have grown to like this guitar
Style: 6-String (Left-Handed)
This is one of the most challenges items that I have reviewed. Out of the box I thought this was very cheaply made compared to my Ibanez acoustic guitar and almost returned it immediately. It is a hollow guitar and not what I consider a full body guitar. I decided to tune it up and give it a try before sending it back and 1 month later I still have it. It has a rich sound and the notes really sustain themselves when striking the cords. I am going to keep it as I like the sound and it is a good compliment to my other acoustic guitar. So, I went from returning this immediately to keeping it, my advice prepared to be disappointed out of the box but give it a chance and you may like the sound it makes. ... show more
