Used this unit all spring and most of summer so far to dig holes for anything from trees and shrubs to deck piers. Unit starts right up, runs strong and digs well. I've used the Harbor Freight units and I would say these are very comparable. Perfect for the DIY homeowner.

Works pretty good. Im in western NC and we have some red clay based soil. It can struggle at times at depth. I’d give it 4.5. But I would say overall it’s worth the price. Easy assembly, just the auger and handles. Starts right up after a prime and choke. Been using it to sink 8’ fence poles 2’ feet in the ground. Beats digging.
