I live in a second floor apartment with little insulation and no AC. The stagnant summer nights a horrible. The outside air temp is so much cooler than inside and I couldn’t find a window fan that would work with horizontal sliding windows and a short sill. THIS litte box fan is perfect. I can slide the window to hold it in place stably. It’s lightweight and fairly quiet AND does exactly what I hoped! I might survive the summer nights with this fan. This little fan packs a punch. Usually only need to keep it on the lowest setting to feels its effects. Lightweight and compact fits on windowsill. Bought two and would like a couple more. I am concerned about cleaning. I haven't figured out how to open it up.

This is small but powerful. The intention was to use it as an exhaust in the bathroom, and it fits pretty perfectly in the window and it does the trick, but we actually love how it works as an actual fan :) It's small and silent, but powerful. We keep it in the bedroom at level 1 at night and the noise level is very low, and during the day at level 3, and it works great.     • Not as thin to fit window as I'd like but over all a decent fan.

Bought to fit into side sliding window however these are too thick and won't sit flat into them because of that. I kinda make do but not what I had expected these would work out. They are not very quite they are typical noise makers and if you enjoy or need white noise to sleep by oh yes good choice. They turn on in front by a knob which is a star point earned right there alone. Hate those over sensitive sensor buttons. I bought a pair and they are ok for our side windows but we still use the full size 17-20 inch big box fans in the larger windows. But we have these 7 foot wide windows that have two sliders on each side and a big box fan is just too big. These fit side wise but like I mentioned too thick to set into window. I can kind of hold in place closing window up to the one side and wedging of sorts into the frame side but it's not ideal at all and a bit iffy if it'll stay in place for it's full over night use. We bring cooler night air into home by night and close up all windows during the day. Yes we live in the NW and in fact Extreme NW MT which means our night temps most years is cool enough to avoid AC. Then along comes climate change and this year has us all non AC dependant folk scrambling for new approaches. I bought a swamp cooler too which over 60 years ago was my families # one AC over 5 moves and ten years and worked really well. Surprisingly well but hubby is not convined we want to use a swamp cooler in our home where you have to leave a window open for ventilation anyway. Which brings up the other problem wtih our natural ma earth AC technique WILD FIRE SEASON POLLUTION. Need to keep windows closed night and day. Our home can't be fitted for many AC's and though we've had all house AC in IA which worked great it's not the best choice here with the 3 story huge duct work heating system installed when house was built and heated with COAL furnace then OIL and now we installed LP. So FANS are US still. and if that means creative choices and many options these are just one of them. Some of our fans by the way are over 48 years old and our first box fan in Fort Collins CO in the early 70's. Just happened to have a miller hatch and boy it left a heck of a mess as the windows even in a brandnew fancy apartment didn't have screens. Never used a fan in awindow without a screen again. Anyway this would get five stars if it was thin enough to fit our window and sit square instead it's kind of wedged at an angle to stay in place...worrisome like. Also I wanted to stack 2 together with one facing out to pull hotter air out and the other in to pull in cooler lower air. That's not happening. But ok small fans with great on off knob. ... show more

Great little fan. It's about 11" square, with the fan part measuring almost 9" across. At a little over 4" deep, it can fit right in the window well and blow the cool night air in. It fits on the window ledge as well. The fan isn't overly powerful, but it is quiet, which I appreciate. I have a Vornado industrial fan that is quite forceful, but like having a plane in the room. ... show more
