I purchased this in February, 2017. It is now November, and I’ve had a chance to use this for a while. All I can say nice is, “horrible shredder”. This is one of my worst purchases on Amazon, and frankly, I’m embarrassed that I paid this much for this piece of trash. I run a small business out of my home, and I needed a shredder that could shred multiple pages per load. I follow all directions, especially the oiling after dumping requirement, because I want this thing to last and do it’s job efficiently. Well, this is a fail. This doesn’t seem powerful enough to “drop” the shredded paper into the bin effectively, meaning that I am CONSTANTLY opening the bin and “wiping” the tight balls of shredded paper off of the cutters. Also, if you’re shredding perfectly straight paper, you have around a 30% chance of successfully shredding a load, but no guarantee. I even wasted new paper right out of the pack - only around 20 sheets - put that in the stacked bin, aligned with the front, and it STILL bunched up and needed me to not only wipe off the balled up paper on the cutters, but I actually had to reverse and forward and pull paper out! This was paper right out of the pack!!! I had two shredders going, an older model of a different brand that only shreds around 5 sheets at a time, and this one. This one required me to keep stopping to clear, while the other was chewing up paper without missing a beat. The only reason I’m even looking at this today is because I was reviewing my original purchase to see if I got the warranty. This thing is super heavy, so returning it and trying to get the manufacturers warranty is going to be a major hassle, but weighed against the hassle of using this thing, it’s worth it to pursue my money back.

So as someone who spent many years as a mechanical engineer, I have to say this thing feels like the team who designed the feed/shredder and the team that designed the bin never spoke. You can load 150 sheets. It feeds and shreds just fine. But the bin isn't deep enough for that much paper. So after around 100 sheets, you need to pull out the bin, push all the shredded stuff to the back of the bin, close it back up and it will shred the rest of the stack. Another shuffle of the debris in the bin, and you can get another 50 or so sheets in a bag. So the bag can hold around 200 sheets, but with some work. And now you have a huge mess everywhere, even with the optional bags. So if you design these shredders and are reading this, make the bin TALLER, not deeper. I'm ready to Frankenstein this thing so I can actually shred as advertised.

I returned this item. I have used a Fellowes Shredder ( 14-Year Old Model ) at both my Home and Business, and really liked it. This Model was a big disappointment to me. Simply, it is loud, and does not shred the papers the first time around, when you close the top. The two main features that are promoted is that you can load up to 130 sheets of paper, close the lid, and quietly there are shred. Sadly, neither one happened. In Fairness to Fellowes and Amazon, they allowed me to have a completely stress-free return, and immediately refunded the purchase price. I don't like posting reviews like this, but if they all operate the way mine did, you will be returning yours also.

This is the very first review I am leaving for a product on Amazon after shopping online and purchasing probably over 1,000 items. This is the worst purchase I have ever made - the item does not work as advertised - not even close. If you manage to get it to actually shred what you put in the big drop-in compartment, it shred so slow it takes several minutes of runtime to even shred 10 sheets. That is IF it works. I am just using the standard insert from the top, which is quickly because the gap is so narrow you have to insert papers from the top just right or it jams. And after you shred 50 or so sheets, get ready to open the bin and move the shredded paper around so the ill-placed sensor will let you continue shredding. This giant piece of equipment is a boat anchor - nothing more. You would be better off buying a standard shredder for a fraction of the price.

I was concerned after reading other reviews about purchasing this shredder but I have to say so far this shredder has meet all of my expectations. Yes, it makes noise but then I expected that from a shredder in this price range and size. It is so nice to be able to place a stack of papers in the shredder and shred instead of feeding each paper one piece at a time. So far I have not had any paper jams.

the motoor doesn't shut off i have to push the power button to stop it i want to return it it goes into crusher if i am not able to return it it's only 2 months old!! it's a gimick and amazon disappointed me i received a second shredder and now it does the same thing the first one did,FELLOWS is now a hassbeen in the shredder business,i would send the second one back but i believe my time has run out i will buy a new one from a different company.shame on amazon not to realize FELLOWS IS PRODUCING INFERIOR QUALITY PRODUCTS

I selected that shredder because I wanted the auto feed feature And I purchase the "upscale" version that holds 200 pages in the auto feeder. Works as advertised. Quiet. Auto feeder takes staples sheets. Not sure why other reviewers are saying the auto feeder does not work with credit card bills and other pages smaller than 8 1/3 by 11. It does. As long as go put in pile that is all the same size. Works for me because that is joe i file my papers anyway. I would recommend this shredder if you are in the market in this price range and want the auto feed function.

This shredder sucks! I put paper in it 2x and it stopped working for 10 minutes, and then came back on. I basically had to repeat this process over and over. Very annoying! Disappointed! Will be returning.
