I've used this Fellowes Powershred 12C15 12-sheet crosscut paper shredder for several months, and it has worked very well for home use in shredding confidential papers and expired credit or debit cards. Very easy set up too. I have not inserted up to 12 sheets of paper per pass, but only insert up to 4 sheets at a time. It has casters for easy maneuvering, safety lock on/off switch, reverse shred switch, front window to view when the bin is full, and an easy pull-out bin for dumping paper contents. The shredder has not overheated, but does have an overheat LED indicator as well as an LED SafeSense indicator and safety lock feature. I oiled it with canola oil as recommended by the manufacturer each time I emptied a full bin. That said, I did encounter some difficulty once after oiling the shredder, and I must have oiled it too much because the next time I used it, shredded paper got stuck in the grinding teeth. However, after removing the oily, shredded paper, it worked perfectly fine again. When used as manufacturer recommends, this shredder is definitely worth buying. ... show more

We bought the 12C15 to replace a smaller, less powerful shredder that was getting old and finicky. I wish we'd done it sooner - this shredder easily rips though more sheets at a time, and is easy to empty. I feed about half of the rated 12 sheets at a time, and so far I haven't tripped the temperature sensor, even with fairly long sessions (more than 2x longer than it is rated). ... show more

I replaced a 10 yr old shredder that bit the last page with this Fellows. Compact size that fits beneath a computer workstation. Pull out waste bin for each emptying. What I really like is the shredded pieces are small, about 1/8" wide and 1" long. Shreds credit cards too!
