You know how you'll try something weird out of utter desperation? Hoping beyond hope it'll be the difference you need? I recently adopted a four year old male Maine Coon. He was not handling the transition into his new home very well. He wasn't tearing anything up & he wasn't acting out but would not stop meowing. Like those deep bellowing meows male cats can do. Literally for three, four...even five hours (every 3 to 5 seconds) non-stop. It was getting to be torturous. So, out of the previously mentioned desperation, I bought this and son of a gun if it didn't make a huge improvement on the situation. Within 24 hours the incessant meowing stopped. He also stopped hiding underneath the bed in my second bedroom. He's become loving and social. I'm amazed. This seems to be the miracle I needed, because I was about to completely lose my mind and now I have an awesome cat! I would definitely recommend giving this a try. You could potentially gain so much more than you could lose. Although I understand this may not have been as effective for some, I'm convinced this has saved either me or the cat...or even both. So after so many years I finally brought one. I decided to because my cat was being very skiddish and was over licking (we moved). At first, I was scared about all the reviews and it burning in the sockets and all but I decided to go ahead and try it at best. Yes it does it a bit warm to touch I figured it would because its a warmer. It has a green light on it, possibly to show its on and working. The wick was a brown color which threw me off but I figured its probably the way its made. Not to bore you any longer, I believe it worked! Shes not as skiddish as before and the licking has reduced significantly. She comes around us more now and is even a bit more talkative. Maybe she settled in or maybe it worked but she loves it. She sometimes rubs her face on it so I guess she scents the pheremones being released. I check it frequently because if it is about to run low I wasnt to unplug it from the wall to not cause a fire. I think that it why people are having fire issues with them. I did remove it when we left for the weekend only because I was afraid it would run out or catch fire and we arent home. Plugged it back in and she was still herself. I would recommend it but just watch it every couple of days. I will buy it again until I see she is her normal self again. ... show more

My 7 yr old male Ragdoll, Seamus, likes to pick on my 13 yr old Ragdoll, Rosie. She is getting up there in age and does not need the aggravation. Seamus is a sweetheart...but just has more energy. I bought this...plugged it in 2 days ago...and they have both mellowed out. The first day, Seamus walked right over to it and took a couple "hits"...lol...big sniffs...as if to tell me thanks! I know Rosie is thankful too. I cannot smell it and my husband has allergies and it does not bother him either. I'm so glad I bought thuis and will order refills when needed. Update: unfortunately after a week of use both my husband and my sinuses began acting up. The product is great for our cats...but we have ultra sensitive noses. ... show more

I've been using these diffusers with two male cats for a few years. One cat stresses easily and has UTI issues because of it, and the other has a tendency to get a little too aggressive. I use two diffusers in my home. One classic and one multicat. The first time we used them, within a couple of days we noticed there were less confrontations and their tolerance of each other improved. A person could say that maybe they're just getting better aquainted and figuring out who's boss. We can definitely tell when the liquid is almost gone because the rambunctious behavior in both of them increases! Pop on a new diffuser and they mellow out again. Recently, we had a stray female decide our garage was a pretty safe refuge. She was so skittish, hiding whenever we came in, we decided to see if a diffuser would help her relax. I wasn't expecting a miracle, but what we did get was good enough to keep it plugged in. She's still unsure of us, but she's tolerating our presence, will eat from a bowl being held steady by a hand, and play with us with a shoe lace and purr. She doesn't run and hide as often as before. Some reviewers say they didn't see any changes in their cats. Maybe what is going on with their cats is more than what this product can help. Mine are not perfect angels, but the changes we do see have made life easier for them which, in turn, has made for fewer vet visits. I suggest giving them a try. See what happens in a month or two, allowing the diffuser to run out. If the behaviors you are hoping to correct don't improve, maybe a talk with your vet is the next step. We have previously (2017) used this product with our late cat who suffered severe anxiety trying to protect our home from the mass of neighborhood feral cats, and any visitors we had, human or otherwise. He would pee on our couch, laundry, and blankets. He would stand at the windows looking at the feral cats and freak out. He would be angry if I didnt make it home for lunch, and bolt out the door and remain just out of reach and stalk back if I didnt chase after him. This product really helped that cat. He had an immediate response to it, and looked perplexed by this new feeling of relief. We were hoping it would do the same for our newest cat. We think she gets upset when we are gone for the day, since she has peed on the couch a couple times while we were gone, and has started hiding. But she is still hiding, she has yet to pee on the couch again, but she hasn't done that more than a couple times, so it's too early to tell. But she doesn't appear calmer. So it might be a different problem she is having. There is no smell and this newest version appears to have been updated, it used to get really hot, but this one just gets a little warm to the touch. I doubt it will cause the concerns of fire hazard as some previous reviews. ... show more
