The media could not be loaded. Personally I bounce between using an a6400 or a A7 series Sony and this gimbal can rock both like a champ. I love that the Scorp Mini is literally half the weight of the DJI Ronin SC2 with the handle. If you are interested in using large lenses the mini wouldn't be the best choice, but they have larger Scorp models that can handle that. For me I have no interest in long lenses, I want a compact set up that I can have with me all the time, typically using primes or small wide angles, and for that application I couldn't be more impressed. I am excited to use the extra modes more, this gimbal is feature packed and I would highly recommend. For less than $300, I can't imagine a better gimbal. ... show more

I am using this gimbal with a Sony RX100 VII. The USB-C to micro-B cable they provide is the only one that works and it does not do everything. That is, you cannot control zoom digital with that camera. I suspect if Sony provided a firmware update that allowed such control then Feiyutech would likely provide an update for it. Because the provided cable has a rather long micro-USB end (that plugs into the Sony on the user's right side) it makes it difficult to freely move the camera in the mount to get a perfect yaw balance... which you can imagine as tilting the horizon angle rather than a front-to-back balance. I bought several such cables and L-shape adapters to get a little more room on the side but nothing worked. I do not know why but the usual suspect is that Sony does some weird crossover wire stuff that makes their cables onn-standard. But that is also why I thought a simple L-adapter should just work with the cable that comes with the unit. In any case, I found that once I purchased a hard cage for the camera, and attached the Scorp-Mini camera mount to take, I got a little more room and the provided cable worked nicely. I can balance it easily now and that took a little practice and some head-scratching events where the unit would shudder when turned on... because I had not balanced it well enough. But I am confident with it now. That said, it is still annoying that I have to zoom the camera manually.. it is awkward and cannot really pull it off during a recording. So that is limiting. I do not know if that is a limitation if you are using this with a cell phone mounted and I know they sell a motorized mount for this that uses a cable that loops around a typical DSLR zoom ring to do zoom using the gimbal's controls. but that won't work on a retracting lens camera afaik. ... show more

The Scorp Mini is an impressive stabilizer with some limitations. With lighter weight devices, such as a phone or action camera, it is very easy to balance and functions extremely well. With a heavier camera pushing the weight limit of the device, such as a Nikon Z ii with a 24-70mm zoom, perfect balance is essential. Battery life is reduced, due to the increased motor power required to stabilize the camera. When using a zoom lens, you must select a focal length and stay with the one you have balanced- a millimeter in or out can throw the whole system out of balance. The system is designed to auto lock in an out of balance situation, so the motors are protected if you are crossing the line, so to speak. Fortunately, you can increase the motor power via the touch screen to accommodate a larger payload, as well as selecting a number of scenarios such as auto rotation, timelapse and panorama. I found the joystick button to be intuitive and fun to use- smooth, professional pan and tilt are accomplished without much practice. The FeiyuTech Scorp Mini is a cut above the phone only stabilizer, and will work for a short lens on a mirrorless camera. ... show more

This gimbal works with small & medium sized cameras, Smart phones and action cameras. Just plain awesome! Especially for my application, Quick charge and long run time. You can basically get pretty much a full day of use out of the full charge. The touch screen is easy to use and read. I do love the placement of the buttons as well which allows you to get to everything you need in a great short period of time. If comes with so many attachments it’s very capable of providing you with so much of what you need. I love the handle which allows you to easily do an underslung mode that requires additional attachments for other gimbals It is also light weight which may or may not be what you need. I like the locks for the balance and believe they help balance without having levers sticking out snagging on clothing or anything around. This thing can also handle some weight. You can place a full frame mirrorless camera with a pretty good size Lenz. I personally use it with my M50 with Kit Lenz and it works great for my personal needs. Great place to start for a beginner with the ability to use your cell phone, and action camera as well as mid size camera without carrying around 3 or 4 different gimbals. This gamble will defiantly cause you to get more use our of your gimbal and so get better with your skills when using a gimbal at the price. ... show more
