Works and is pretty quiet most of the time. Sometimes it makes a clicking noise, but after a while you stop noticing it. I put in my bedroom and it doesn't wake me up at night.

***********2-MONTH REVIEW UPDATE*********** This freezer is still pretty quiet, though you can hear when the motor kicks on. The noise isn't disruptive to me, though. Even on level 4 (out of 7), frozen vegetables, tofu, soups... all freeze quickly or stay frozen. I'm using this in a temporary space through early 2027. I'll have to leave it behind so I didn't want to invest in an expensive large unit. This means I have to open the door several times a day for a few seconds to remove things too cook or freeze left overs. By the second month of ownership, opening the door for about a second 2-3 times a day in a low-humidity part of the US, frost has built up on the inside to the point I know I'll have to defrost the unit in the next month at most. I suppose this is to be expected given the size of the unit, but if I were on site longer, I'd buy a larger unit that mightn't frost up so quickly OR invest in an auto-defrost unit. You should keep this in mind if you're thinking of a tiny freezer. There aren't any I could find with auto-defrost AND using one in lieu of a fridge means you're likely to have to defrost manually often. Another note: this 1.1 cu-ft freezer doesn't hold much. I get about 6-8 12-16 oz bags of frozen vegetables (like broccoli cuts or crinkle-cut carrots) plus 2-3 24-oz glass rectangular boxes full of tofu or other frozen goods plus either ONE 16-oz mason jar OR TWO 8-oz mason jars filled with soups. If you don't have a fridge, this volume of food, supplemented with non-perishables, lasts one to maybe two weeks for just one person. If I were choosing again, given the price of this unit which is about the same as that for a 2-3 cu-ft unit, I'd buy a larger unit so I wouldn't have to go shopping as often. Not any fault of the manufacturer. I chose the small unit b/c I knew I'd have to defrost it manually so would have to lug it around often. Reliable (so far), quiet machine with the single real issue that frost builds up in it quickly. Still great for what it is. I'll update my review if anything big changes. **********ORIGINAL REVIEW************ I've been using this freezer for about a month now. I'd originally purchased a larger "dorm-style" fridge for my rural bungalow, but it was outrageously noisy. This freezer is very quiet and so far there's no ice build-up inside. I keep it on level 4 out of 7 and this keeps my frozen vegetables and small left over soups frozen until I'm ready to use them in meal prep. The freezer is remarkably light. I can't lift very heavy fridges or freezers anymore but was able to lift this freezer by myself. No, it doesn't hold a lot of food--that's my only regret. But I move A LOT so can't have massive machines to lug around. While next I expect to get a larger version of this, if they sell one, for my permanent home, for now, this unit is quiet, effective, and seems reliable. Will update review if anything big changes.

Good little freezer in my bedroom. Currently has cheap burritos. Tater tots. Meatballs. Hot links. Dumplings. Stack of 10 or so totino pizza. Trying to upgrade to a more healthy collection of just lean ground beef and ribeye for special occasions. Maybe burritos and totinos pizza when I want to live crazy. My pink salmon packets on the side is essential. Also rice with my little cheap rice cooker. You can just throw everything in and poof. You have a healthy delicious meal if you add pink salt and black pepper and whatever seasonings you crave. Teriyaki sauce glaze is good to mix in sometimes. Also have a toaster oven and microwave and a little cast iron stove in my bedroom/sanctuary ;D This freezer makes my room so hot!!!! It’s like a sauna in here. The frost inside on the walls build up a lot. Never seen that before in a freezer. Always have to use my wooden spatula to scrape it off then throw out the big ice chunks. Even putting it on the lowest setting doesn’t make much difference.
