Purchased this KIPA Carburetor as a replacement for the OEM very problematic Nikki which I had off and apart a few times over the years replacing O-rings etc. Some of you are certainly well aware of what I’m referring to here if it’s a Nikki. If you’re not; consider yourself lucky, just replace it with this KIPA. It comes with a new intake gasket and other extras if needed to make the install smoother. Take a few pictures once you get to the old carb so you know where the governor rod, spring, & choke slip in for proper reassembly. DO NOT bend these rods. It helps to clean dust and dirt away before removing old carb. Use a new air filter & prefilter if equipped. I installed the new KIPA, plugged in the solenoid, turned on fuel, choked. It fired right up!! Immediately I pulled the throttle down, ran it only for 3-4 minutes. Adjusted the idle screw down a bit never even touching the mixture screw. It runs excellent at idle, full throttle, under a load, etc. Finally reassembled the plastic air shroud housing, air filter etc. Be sure your old o-ring is in place when connecting the air filter intake to carb, & do not over tighten as intake is only plastic. ** Use caution around the spinning flywheel if running engine for a few minutes disabled for testing. ** Early 2000s Craftsman Tractor LT1000 with single Briggs and Stratton 16 HP OHV

1999 LT1000 14.5 B&G. Previously ordered another carb. Surged and backfired no matter what air/fuel ratio it was set to. Decided to order this KIPA carb because of the reviews even though my model was not listed. It arrived in 3 days. This KIPA carb is a bit longer than the OEM carb but mounted up fine. Installation was a breeze and the mower fired up on the first try. Unlike other reviews, this carb ran rich and smoked a lot. Adjusting the air valve several turns out helped quite a bit but under a load whether its thick cutting or uphill the mower will still smoke. After 3.5hrs of mowing the smoke mostly cleared up, but under strain unburned fuel caused it to smoke out of the muffler. It was markedly reduced the longer the mower ran. Even so, i would order this KIPA carb again as it was basically an install and mow procedure. Having searched multiple carbs over multiple days, i noticed there wasn't many reviews that included model/brand information which i found to be a bit frustrating having an older machine that has an OEM replacement of $145 and a two week delivery. The price and included tool and upgraded fuel filter was a no brainer. Original carb crapped out on me, engine surging and was running very lean. Put the Kipa on and ran great for a few weeks then started surging again. Bought a second one and that one has been working fine for a few months now, we'll see if lasts the season and beyond. So not bad for a 20 dollar carb, just be aware you might end up replacing it sooner than you think. But since you get a new gasket, fuel filter, hose, and cleaning tips its still a great value. I like that the fuel inlet is at a 90 degree angle like the original. A lot of the aftermarket carbs on here have a straight piece. Definitely check the main jet size on your original carb and make sure its close. If its way off you can put the original jet into the Kipa. UPDATE: second carb crapped out on me too. Engine surging from being too lean. I ended up ordering the gyros brand micro drill set and drilling out the main jet on my original carb a few thousandths larger and that got my motor running good again.

I purchased this carburetor based on many positive customer reviews like with any item I buy. My Craftsman YT 3000 lawn tractor with the Briggs & Stratton 21 HP Intek single cylinder engine was running really rough using any more than 1/2 throttle without it stumbling cutting the grass, going up slight hills, or even cutting on a slope. I'm experienced with small engines and always take meticulous care of my equipment and the original Nikki carb was replaced with a Ruixing carb while my tractor was under a Maintenance Agreement warranty with Sears 2 1/2 years and 217 hours ago so after checking everything else and not finding a problem I decided to take a chance by buying this carburetor for $27.00 since another official B&S Ruixing replacement carb was upwards of $100. Like the Nikki and Ruixing all of them are all made in China but looking at the information data on the Kipa carb it appeared very thorough and not sketchy like with all the other Chinese ones out there with lots of bad reviews. This Kipa carburetor also has something that I was looking for by having an idle mixture adjustment screw if needed, while the Ruxing and others carbs did NOT, and were NOT even adjustable. The Kipa carburetor kit with accessories doesn't come with directions but there are plenty of good instructional videos on YouTube which made this installation simple and complete, everything matched up like the original carb and 20 minutes afterwards I started the tractor and could immediately tell the difference in the way it was sounding & running even without the engine being under a load with the blades engaged, and like others who purchased and installed this carb I saw NO need to even mess with the idle mixture adjustment screw at this time because it was just running so good. After cutting an acre of grass 3 times and 8 hours later my lawn tractor is back to running like new again. The majority of the reviews were very positive but a few encountered problems whether they were defective or not installed correctly for lack of experience, but for the price and my overall experience I'm very pleased and might just purchase another one to have around for a spare one day since I can purchase 4 of these for the price of 1 from either local mower shops or from the Briggs & Stratton website.
