The only thing that's hard about this one is that I wish the second basket had a sliding bar like the other one does that you can fit across a bucket when you just want to filter to a certain level

The double mesh approach with this filter is fantastic. It does a great job filtering the honey but is also relatively fast as far as gravity filtering honey goes. You will still have some honey left in your comb after letting this sit overnight, but not a whole lot. Enough to either make into a honeycomb taffy of sorts or re-filter through a typical cloth mesh with some pressure applied. I was concerned it would be a pain to clean, but it was actually really easy. I just used hot water with the sprayer mode of a faucet and everything came right off or melted away. ... show more

I used the bag method last year and was not happy at all. This 2 stage filter screen was so easy to use and worked so much faster than the bag method. Plus cleaning the filter was an absolute breeze compared to cleaning the filter bag I had used previously. This was probably the best money I spent this year. ... show more

We are novice beekeepers and I figured we'd need something like this for straining honey and am I glad I ordered it! Even impressed my boy friend! Lol. Nice gadget. Fit my 5 and 6.5 gallon food safe buckets great bc arms expand. The wire mesh screens are made of two different patterns which is double the straining. The top mesh holes are just a normal screen but the bottom is in a herringbone pattern which seems smaller and it filtered the honey/wax perfectly. Super easy clean up. I'd buy it again ... show more
