The scooter is simple to assemble and operate. The speed is controlled by your right thumb and your left hand controls the bicycle-style brake. As you are riding around, you can monitor your speed on the display (at the speed control area) which also shows your battery level. The scooter has three modes, Economical—about 7 MPH (for when your battery is low, and you only want to get home); Normal—about 10 MPH; and Sport—about 12 MPH—which is where my grandson leaves it! Speaking of MPH, these speeds are high enough that you should make sure your kiddo is wearing proper head, knee, and elbow pads. The scooter has three separate braking systems. The primary is the rear fender brake, although you should not use this while barefoot—you will burn your foot. Come to think of it, don’t ride this barefoot either! The secondary is the retro-braking caused when the accelerator is disengaged. The tertiary brake is the bicycle style hand brake (which engages the brake on the front wheel). The lights (more like an LED light bar) are awesome. When you play music through the included Bluetooth speaker, the lights automatically switch from one of the five selectable modes to pulse to the beat of your music. When you turn off the music, the lights switch back to the mode you had selected prior to jamming out. I saw another reviewer comment that if you turn off the lights (hold the light switch for about 5 seconds), it will sever the Bluetooth connection to your phone. I found the same issue. The scooter is designed for youngsters over 13 years, but under 155 pounds, and taller than 4 feet, but shorter than 5’3”. That could be a narrow range for some kids. The scooter has a range of about 7 miles and should run for about an hour. My grandson, using the Sport mode, was able to coax only about 45 minutes. Overall, I am pleased with the design and features of this scooter. I only wish I were 50 years younger so I could give it a try! Pros: • Intuitive design • 3 speeds • 3 braking systems • Bluetooth speaker that integrates with the lights. • Cool LED light bars that pulse to your music. • Battery life from 40 to 60 minutes. • Easy pairing to your phone. Cons: • Made for a relatively narrow range of youngsters. My Take: I would highly recommend this. This is a very well built scooter that folds up for convenient carrying and storage. The instructions were easy to follow and the only assembly required was to attach the top handle with a single screw using the included Allen wrench. The controls are simple and intuitive with only a thumb-actuated variable speed control for your right thumb; a hand brake for your left hand and a tiny bell to warn people you are coming. The backlit display shows your miles per hour, battery charge level, and which of the three speed modes you're in: economical (low), normal (medium) or sport (high). The only other buttons are the on/off switch to turn the scooter on, and the on/off switch for the lights. The lights are very cool looking and have five different modes: three modes with a solid neon-like color and two modes with pulsating lights that travel up and down the board on each side. The scooter also has a built-in bluetooth speaker that was simple to pair with my iPhone. Once both the scooter and cellphone are turned on, all I had to do was select the scooter's name from the list of available bluetooth devices in my phone's settings menu. The speaker sounds quite good and it has a decent volume level for being such a small speaker; just don't expect any bass response. Once you start playing your music, the lights automatically switch to one of the pulsating modes with multi-colored lights running up and down the sides of the scooter which are pulsating with the beat of the music. You can't turn this feature off. If you're playing music, the lights will be pulsating to the music. If you turn the music off, the lights will revert back to whichever of the five light modes you had selected previously. If you want to turn the scooter's lights off, all you have to do to is hold-in the lights' power switch for 4 seconds. The same 4-second hold will turn the lights back on. One quirk I discovered is that once you turn off the lights, it also turns off the bluetooth connection to your cellphone which means you can't play music with the scooter's lights off. To play music, the lights will always be pulsating when the music is playing. The scooter is designed for children 13 years or older and it has a weight limit of 154 pounds which will allow most teenagers and lightweight adults to have a lot of fun on it. If you weigh more than that, the scooter will still work fine on level ground but will struggle trying to go up a modest incline and if it slows down to 3 miles an hour (the pace of a fast walk), the scooter will turn off. All in all it's a great scooter that's ruggedly built and will provide hours of fun for any teenager and it looks cool too. ... show more

This is a great scooter for the kids. I got this for my 12 year old son and he loves it! It's foldable, lightweight and easy to ride. The lights on it are a nice feature. Especially for riding at night. It also has a Bluetooth speaker to pair your phone with and listen to music while riding. Very happy with it so far and highly recommend! ... show more

I have been eying one of these for a while and I finally broke and got one. I like that this has a speaker bluetooth connectivity. It does not sound very good but keeps the kids busy and outdoors. The scooter motor itself is powerful. I got on it and pedaled a few and turned on the motor and wow! it took me a little bit to get the hang of the controls since I'm 55. But the kids does not seem to have an issue with that. I like that it has lights so you can easily be seen in the dark. Price point is competitive. I just hope that the battery and the controls last a long time. But that's one of those longevity things the only time will tell. I would recommend this product. ... show more

I'm on the fence with this scooter. It's hit or miss whether it'll hold a charge. My kids love it, and I think it's cute (love the under lights). I just wish it weren't so fussy about the charge.
