I have bleached blonde hair that loves to go brassy. I can’t stand brassy/yellow blonde (on me). If you are looking for icy blonde to platinum, this is the shampoo for you. It completely removes all yellow from my hair. My friends are always asking me how i get this “silvery blonde.” Well this is the secret. DO NOT watch YouTube and put this on dry hair and leave on for 30 minutes. I tried that and I ended up with blue hair. The trick is to wet your hair, put the shampoo on with as little agitation as possible (put it on like a conditioner, don’t let it lather), leave it for about 5 minutes (or however long it takes to wash your body and a quick shave) and then rinse. I use it about 2 times a week and it keeps my blonde PERFECT. I’ve tried every purple shampoo on the market (almost) and this is THE BEST. I’ve always been blonde, but I decided to go full on ashy white platinum recently. I love a very cool tone ashy platinum and I use purple shampoo to fight any brassiness or warmth since most timers wash out within a few washes. I’ve used every kind of purple shampoo imaginable, from drug store (Shimmer Lights) to high end salon purple shampoo (Matrix Brass Off, Pravana Perfect Blonde, Joico Color Balance Purple, etc). Hands down, Fanola purple shampoo gives the absolute best results! It is an incredible brass blaster and easily gets rid of any unwanted golden/yellow/orangey tones in blonde hair. The pigment in this shampoo ks phenomenal and it tones and brightens in just one wash! Some purple shampoos can be super drying and leave the hair feeling straw-like, but I’ve never had this issue using Fanola before!! The only downside is that it will stain your hands, especially if you have dry skin on your hands like I do! I always wear gloves now when I use it and just keep a pair under my sink for when I’m planning to wash with my Fanola. On the plus side, it doesn’t stain the tub or the sink like some other purple shampoos will. It has a strong scent, as most purple shampoos do. It isn’t super chemical smelling though and isn’t unpleasant. Once it’s rinsed out the smell dissipates and doesn’t stick around very strongly once the hair is dry. **detailed description of how I personally use Fanola No Yellow shampoo** I put the shampoo all over my hair as evenly as possible and let it sit for a few minutes in the shower before I rinse it out. If I reallyyy want it to super tone my hair, I sometimes will “paint” the shampoo onto my dry hair (similar to how you would apply color/dye to your hair), being careful not to really lather it. I’ll leave it on anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending on what tone I’m looking to achieve and then I’ll hop in the shower and work it into a lather while I rinse it out. This stuff is amazing! I made sure to read all the reviews before I bought it, It took me years to get my silver hair. And of course just weeks after I use a toner it will start pulling yellow again. I have used high end shampoo toners and this stuff by far takes the cake. A lot of people were complaining about it being too watery but it’s about the same consistency as any other toning shampoo I’ve used. I didn’t notice too strong a smell, but it did stain my hands. And make sure to rinse it off the walls or it will stain. I used it before my regular shampoo and I always let my conditioner sit for about 5 minutes before I rinse it out. A lot of comments said it was drying so I followed up with a leave in conditioner too. So my hair still feels pretty soft. The lid didn’t leak at all during shipping either. The first pic I uploaded is right after toning, second is about 2-3 weeks later you can see the yellow. Third is the day after I used the shampoo. ... show more

I did not pay $400 for my hair to get done by a professional stylist, and not take care of it. My stylist recommended AND USES fanola no yellow shampoo. I have Asian hair he colored to a balayage ombre brond(blond beige) I absolutely love my hair and wanted to take care of the color. I waited it out and bought the 1000ml FOR CHEAPER THAN THE SMALLER BOTTLE! patience is key! I got it for $15! When literally 3 days ago, it was listed for $24. Anyway, it works! Didn't dye my skin, sink or shower because I'm not an idiot who let's colored things sit. As soon as a drop hit the sink, I washed it away. In the shower, I washed that too. On my face, wiped it off with a wet warm towel. No. Stains. No streaks because I'm not stupid. People who get stains clearly don't know what they're doing. Pro tip though, do it in the tub if you have one. Fill it a bit with water and sit or stand and do the shampoo in the shower. I did it with wet hair because it's shampoo and it started to lather. Also that's exactly how my professional hair colorist did it, so I'm following the pros. It smells like a hair salon so that's good because it means it's legit. The packaging was good. It was in a sealed plastic although I definitely think if the carrier was uncaring about it, it would have been destroyed in the mail. I'm glad I bought this. I only use it once a month. Use it more if you want more of the platinum or silver color, but because I have a certain shade I'm trying to keep, it'll only be once a month. A have short hair so a little goes a long way.
