Description
Extreme Max's 3-Way Hitch is designed for installation on conventional lawn and garden tractors, providing a 3/4" hitch ball hole and two 5/8" holes for use with clevis hitches perfect for towing yard-size utility trailers, log splitters, small boats, and more! The hitch offers a 5" rise for both the hitch ball and one clevis pin hole, with the remaining clevis hole remaining at the standard tractor hitch height. The hitch extends 5" to 6" from the back of the tractor, allowing space for tighter turning radiuses and ease of trailer hookup. The hitch includes all necessary mounting hardware and requires no drilling or altering of the tractor’s existing hitch plate. Includes a durable black powder-coat finish to protect against rust and other damage.

Great addition to my Cub Cadet. The install was simple and straight forward. This is a very sturdy hitch. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to add this to their mower. Do you all make this with a receiver slot? that would be perfect. I am giving it a 5 star because the product is great. If there was a separate rating for shipping, I would give it a 1. Works great for John Deer X320
Works great, just plan to drill 2 holes in the hitch plate (1 on each side of the hole for the ball) and 2 holes on the rear plate above the hitch to stabilize the hitch adapter. Very solid with several hundred pounds (400-500sh) of rock hauled over uneven terrain. This hitch is a great addition, very solid and simple. Brings the ball up enough to level out my Ohio Steel, dump cart. The mower is definitely the weak link in this setup, I’ve been limiting my load size to avoid killing the transmission. I’d absolutely recommend this hitch for towing. Very well made and a good height. Much more usable than the higher options that raise the hitch 10-11 inches, which is just too high for my purposes.

Works Great On John Deere X370
I have an Aluma ESA548 54" X 96" aluminum utility trailer that I store on a gravel pad behind my garage. I would have to drive by truck across most of my yard to back it into my storage spot as it is not a straight shot by any means. I looked at a few hitch assemblies for my John Deere X370 on YouTube. This by far looked the most promising for my lawn tractor and after using it a couple of times, it turned out to be a great hitch for my tractor's frame. I have to push my trailer up a slight incline and over a rounded sloped landscaping log. I believe other designs would have buckled or maybe even buckled the rear of the tractor, but this set-up appears to be very sturdy. I will also use it for a lawn roller.

Easy (for me) install. Moves light utility trailers easily.
The good...solid built. Thick steel, not pot metal or cast aluminum. Welds look good. Good fit on my Craftsman lawn tractor. Installation was fairly easy. Reaching behind the plate to get to the nuts on the vertical plate is like reaching into your left front pocket with your right hand, but that is a tractor design issue. Minimal tools needed...15/16" wrench for the carriage bolt and 2-13 mm wrenches for the smaller bolts. A hand drill and a selection of drill bits are needed for the back bracket and the bottom mounting plate. It took me about 30 minutes (I'm professional maintenance mechanic). The fasteners are grade 8.8 metric (comparable to a grade 5 SAE) and seem adequate for this application. I'd say the average DIY'er would take 1-2 hours max. It tows my utility trailers with no problem. You will need a class 1 or class 2 ball with the smaller shank (I found one at a yard sale for $2.00. The one negative is there wasn't clearance for my trailer wth the flip style latch so I had to notch the rear apron on the mower (see photo). Also there is a bit of a learning curve when turning and backing as you can't turn too sharp or your rear wheels will hit the trailer frame. I've looked at several different types of hitches and talked to others who have hitches and this seemed to be the best at a good price point. A few points to consider...make sure the brakes on your lawn tractor work properly, don't tow too fast and don't overload things. I plan on using this to move my trailers into position where space won't allow me to use my SUV to back a trailer onto but after the trailer is in place I can back my SUV in and hook up. The trailer shown in the photo is about 450-500 pounds and the tongue weight empty is less than 50 pounds.

Nice product, great price “requires drilling on J.D E-180”
I have a John Deere E180 garden tractor. Installation took a little over an hour, four holes were required to be drilled for bracing and extra support. The kit was nice. Everything was there appears to be well built and it’s a good value. It fits well and looks decent. You will need a few wrenches (13mm,14mm,17mm), a ratchet, a few sockets (13mm,14mm,17mm,1”) along with the drill and bit (15/64 I believe). I did it on the floor of my garage. No jacking was needed. Directions were spot on. Swearing was mild lol

Watch where you drill.
This hitch is well made and heavy. No problems putting it on my Husqvarna lawn tractor ,TS 348 xd. If you have a drill, some tools and can do some minor fabrication. It is not made for the TS but is close and there's room to bolt it on the back. Hauls my 5X8 foot trailer around fine. Watch where you drill of course.

A massive upgrade
This is one of those nifty gadgets that borders on miraculous. It anticipates a market for those who want to do two things at once which at first seem mutually exclusive: tow standard garden trailers AND/OR tow larger trailers with an automotive style hitch. Yet as is also the case with such clever product, it's easy to overlook the reason WHY those two towing systems are different. Put another way: There is a reason why automotive hitches are designed differently than simple garden trailer hitches. Even if you manage to mount a ball to your lawn tractor, the problem is what happens when you go to tow something heavy. Most of today's lawn tractors are not built to to heavy loads. Even if they can be retrofitted to do it, the cheap hydrostatic transmissions being used these days will suffer and fail prematurely. Many folks learn this lesson the hard way. That being said, there are also many older machines still in service that can very capably tow larger loads. For those, this "dual-purpose" hitch mount is brilliant. It not only allows for two different hitch styles, it places the ball at a level better suited to ball-style trailer tongues. A good rule of thumb for determining what your lawn tractor is capable of is it simply look at the plate where the hole is for attaching a garden trailer. The thinner the steel plate, the lighter-duty the tractor. If the metal is 1/8" or greater - especially if it's 1/4 inch like mine is - you've got a lot to drill through but you've also got yourself a tractor that's capable of handling some heavy stuff.

Good height, not too high.
Installed on JD X390. Good hitch height, not in way of hydro drive service. Looks nice, strong enough. Use with light duty trailer, low tongue weight.
