- EXTRA-WIDE 32-54 IN FIT, 29 IN STANDARD HEIGHT: Measure the opening at both the upper and lower bracket positionsbefore ordering. Both measurements must fall within 32-54 inches. This model is 29 inches tall; choose the 39-inchvariation if you need a taller barrier.
- CHECK TRIM, BASEBOARDS AND STAIR POSTS: Protruding baseboards, chair rails, uneven walls, round posts or metal mounting surfaces may prevent the brackets from sitting flat and may require a compatible mounting solution. Do notinstall until both sides can be aligned vertically.
- LEVEL, ALIGN AND TEST BEFORE FINAL TIGHTENING: Position both mounting sides, level the gate and align the latch before fully tightening all screws. Open and close the gate several times to confirm smooth travel, secure latchingand proper auto-close operation.

Description
Which width should I order? Measure wall to wall at the top and at the bottom of the opening. Both numbers must be in range. Under 32 in: Standard or Extra Tall. Over 43 in: Extra Wide or Extra Tall & Wide. From 32 to 43 in, either width fits. Is this a pressure gate? Can I install it without drilling? No. It is hardware mounted: both sides are screwed into the wall or frame, so you need a drill (not included). Screws, wall anchors, a drill bit and a spirit level are in the box. What surfaces can I mount it on? Wall studs, wood frames and flat square newel posts are suitable. For stud‑less drywall, drill 15/64‑in holes ~2‑in deep with included wall anchors. Avoid glass, round decorative banisters and trim blocking flush bracket mounting. Can I use it at the top of the stairs? Yes, when it is screwed in. Mount it on the top floor, 7.9 in (20 cm) back from the top step, as shown in the manual. Never mount it below the top level. Does it close by itself? It closes and latches by itself when opened less than 90 degrees, and stays open when pushed past 90 degrees. It swings both ways. To open, push the lower button up, then pull the top button.
