This was the only gate that would fit a 28 inch door and also has a cat door. My dog is pretty strong and she can bust through this cat door. I had to install a thick piece of wood to block off about 2 inches on the side of the cat door. My dog is 25 pounds and muscular. I cut a notch in the top and bottom of the wood piece I used so the cat door shield would anchor into it from above and below. I also used some rubber to keep it from sliding sideways. My cat was hurting his back by trying to crouch below the cat door shield. He is old and already has bone and muscle issues. It would be nice to have a cat door that adjusts from the side.

We have a Bassett Hound that thinks our cat is a toy for him to play with so this gate has came in great for our hallway. The gate on the front is perfect for the cat to fit through while being to small for the dog. Try as he might the dog has not been able to get through the gate it fits snug to the wall and so far has been very sturdy. I would definitely recommend this item.

We are BEYOND impressed with this baby gate. My fiancé and myself have both ran into it (not opening the gate fast enough while still proceeding to walk) and has held our weight. As well as our 14 month old climbing, holding onto it trying to break in by shaking the living life out of it. We also have a cat that’s about 25lbs (a very very big boy) and he can fit through the hole just fine. We have been so impressed with this gate that I just HAD to leave a review & never am one to leave reviews even though I rely on them myself when purchasing items. It you have littles and small animals; this is a MUST HAVE gate!

Only complaint is the pet door slides down since my toddler figured out how to turn the knob, so it’s not child proof on the pet door. I loved the installation of it though, so I still bought a second one and just taped up the pet door open.

Pleasantly surprised with how well this works. We need a gate to keep our dog upstairs so he doesn't eat the cat food that is downstairs. This gate is one of the only ones available that fit our narrow doorframe. I was skeptical but ended up being pleasantly surprised at how great it is. We've had it up for months and it has stayed put, we haven't had to tighten it or adjust it at all. The cat can come and go as she pleases and the dog is stuck upstairs :)
