    • Really doesn't kink - rolls and unrolls easily - lighter than regular rubber hose
Main advantage - doesn't kink Main disadvantage - almost certainly not repairable if you run over it with a car. Lighter than a standard rubber hose Can be wound up without haven't to 'unwind' the twist. I like these stainless steel hoses. I am reviewing these after about 6 weeks for use at this time, so commenting on any long term problems is impossible at this time. However, I will try to update that later. These hoses and similar stainless steel hoses are provided by many vendors. The type I got were available by at least six different vendors, all in exactly the same box with the same features. Identical. Advantages and disadvantages: 1) They do not kink, are easy to roll up, and don't tangle, even when left out, winding them back and forth. Unlike the heavy duty rubber hoses I have been using, these do NOT drive me nuts keeping them from kinking. I don't have to twist them about to get them unkinked or tangled. That really makes me ecstatic. 2) As long as you don't run over them with a lawnmower, loaded wheelbarrow, or worse yet, a car, they shouldn't ding or crimp. I leave the hoses out, and am regularly stepping on them, sometimes on top of each other, in the yard and on sidewalks. There hasn't been an issue with that, but heavier loads can ruin the hose. 3) They don't leak and the ends do seal well. The hoses come with three spare hose end washers and a small roll of Teflon tape. The spare washer seals are a nice touch. At first, I was a bit confused by why they would include Teflon tape. I've never bothered with it on similar connections and the hoses seal when tightened. I figured out that this will help if you are connecting hoses together to make a longer hose and leaving them connected for a long time. Since our last set of heavy duty rubber hoses lasted 15-20 years (the worst practically falling part - the best still OK), it can be difficult to unscrew the hoses when they have been together for a good long time. When I threw away my old hoses, two of them wouldn't come apart. Even with good machined brass fittings, the old rubber hoses wouldn't loosen, even using two Channel Lock pliers. So providing some Teflon tape is thoughtful. 4) The machined brass hose ends are of high quality, seal well and thread together well. That is the good. The bad isn't terrible, but could be annoying. When you tighten the hoses well, taking them back apart will likely require those Channel Lock pliers because the ends don't have a good surface for you to grab onto. Note pictures 1 and 2. Those thin knurled brass sections are all you really have to grab onto. The plastic barrels are hose protectors, but because they are not fitted over a a hex nut type fitting and rather, screwed into the ends, one end will just unthread. You have to unscrew the hoses by the thin brass exposed fitting. It is not difficult, but may require the pliers. The only real disadvantage these stainless steel hoses have is that you cannot repair one. As long as you don't crush one with your car or run over it with your lawnmower, it should last far longer. Probably almost as important is that it doesn't kink and won't drive you crazy counter-winding out the kinks. ... show more

This review is for a 25 foot Stainless Steel covered pvc garden hose. These new stainless covered pvc hoses are really nice to use, they are very light weight, are nearly impossible to kink, and are easy to rewind when done with them. I have 5 hoses of this type now, as I am replacing all of my old rubber hoses with this new type of stainless hose because after trying my first one I was sold on their usability and sturdiness. Despite being covered in stainless steel, this is a very light weight hose, and is easy to drag around and use. The outer covering pretty much prevents kinks or pinches unless maybe you run over it with a car or something, I don't think even tying it in a knot would restrict the flow much, if at all. This hose has very top quality hose ends and fittings made from solid brass for long life, have long flexible rubber type strain reliefs at the ends, and they come with extra rubber sealing washers. There is also a roll of Teflon tape, and I am not completely sure what it was intended for, although I have seen people use that on the spigot when screwing on the hose, but I have never used it myself. I installed it like I usually do by just screwing it onto the hose bib until tight, and there are no leaks even without the Teflon tape. If I had to come up with a con for this hose, it would be one that these stainless covered hose all share, and that is that the hose gets very hot if left in the sun without water going through it, and so does the water that was left inside since last use, I mean scalding hot! I mean the kind of hot water that burns something fierce if it gets on you, so keep that in mind, especially if spraying people or pets without checking the water temperature first. I live in Southern Arizona where it gets super hot, and all hoses do this, but the stainless ones just a bit more. When I need to pick it up after it's been sitting in the sun with no water running through it I just grab it by the nozzle itself, which is covered in a rubber type coating, and by the time I am ready to coil it back up after using it, the water has cooled down to normal temperature, as has the outside of the hose, so it's not a problem as long as you are aware of it. I really like this hose, and at around $26, I believe it is a good deal on an very well made hose. I give this hose 5 Stars, and I can recommend it for purchase. ... show more

The product was as pictured and described by the seller. It came quickly and was undamaged. The stainless steel garden hose is well-made and highly durable. It was really easy to install and use. It's pretty light-weight and is easy to maneuver around. We've had almost no knots or kinks since we started using it. The price is great for the quality product that you get.
