I ordered two lamps and they were both quite easy to assemble. Does not look nearly as wood as like as in the pictures. The brightness is just right for a romantic setting but still needs an overhead light for casual use; a 3 way switch would be a good alternative. Since I've been working from home since March, I finally moved into an extra bedroom for my 'office' and decided to spruce it up a bit. So I had been looking for new nightstand lamps with red shades for a while, and was so pleased to find these lamps. They are not real wood, and the metal looking part is not real either. They are some sort of 'resin'. But they look fantastic, and seem plenty sturdy. I thought the price was also very reasonable for 2 lamps. I've already bought 2 more for my living room since I loved them so much! I'm sharing 2 pictures, since I think the lamps might even be prettier NOT lit since the red shades (when unlit) really match my bedspread in that room, but they are super cozy when lit. So I'll let you all decide which looks better! This is an update to my previous review. When I ordered these lamps, I ordered them with the red shades. But when they arrived, they had 4 shades: 2 offwhite and 2 red. Both were very pretty. I contacted the seller: Lamps Plus, and they told me that the lamps I bought are supposed to come with both colors of shades so I can change the shades to a neutral color if I ever change my decor. What I wonderful idea! This was the second time I had to contact Lamps Plus and both times have been very positive. So I not only recommend the lamps for their beauty, value and quality, but I also recommend the seller, Lamps Plus. Kudos to them on great products and customer service. ... show more

Excellent quality - super easy to assemble. Gives my living room a warm vibe. I didn't realize the order comes in 2 boxes. The first box was a complete set of 2 lamps, and tan lampshades, not red.
