  • Fast .
Growing very fast . No prep work done. Just raked the area a little. Got some good rain fall . Good thing it grows fast the deer already found it. Will have to update later if it comes back up.

  • Excellent food plot seed
This stuff is easy to use and the deer love it. I disked the plot and sowed. Seed came up great and lasted well into the winter. Would have still been there but the deer absolutely ate it off at the ground. Quite a bit is coming back this spring. Will resow in early fall or late summer with this same blend and expect the same great results. A bit pricey but very hardy and easy to use if you don't want to use a lot of equipment or don't have equipment available. I use it in four small plots and feel it has upped my success rates in that area. Lots and lots of trail cam pictures to prove how well the deer like to eat it. ... show more

  • It grows well but the deer don’t eat it
If you are looking for nice green foliage it is great and grows well but the deer don’t care for it. I have put out some cracked corn in the middle of it and the deer will come in and eat the corn but don’t hang around and eat this stuff.

  • It actually grows! Germinates within 2 weeks as long as it gets some rain
This stuff will grow! I was skeptical with the first bag I bought and did a few "test areas" to throw down the seed. No prep work (as long as you can put it down on soil). I never watered it, raked it in or anything. Just threw it down and within 3 weeks it started growing. That was last September in South Jersey. It is growing again this year as well. With that said, I bought a second bag and used it 30 yards from my stand. I'll post pictures soon to show results. A product that does exactly what it states! Just "throw and grow!" ... show more

  • Best one growing this year
I have used this multiple times over the years and would have probably given it 4 stars in those years. But, this year, I must've done something right or the weather is just right because it outproducing my more expensive plot seeds that I have.

  • My honest opinion
Ok, this was my third year using the throw and grow but this time I did a little more work with it. I sprayed and killed the grass as in previous years but this time I racked all the grass and leaves off the site and got down to the naked ground. I used a hand tiller and hand rack to break up the ground about two inches of the top soil and I used a 10-10-10 fertilizer. I also mixed some wheat and purple turnip seeds. I had a full-grown pilot in about 2 weeks after a rain. The seed is about 80% ryegrass but it grows. The stand I planted it by was hunted by three hunters and we killed 5 bucks that year. I harvested a solid 252lb buck myself. In 6 years of hunting that area, this year was the best and I believe it was this food plot. ... show more
