June 28, 2024: As you'll read below in my original review, I was not happy that Euhomy wanted me to replace a malfunctioning pump on my very new ice machine. I'm so happy to report that when I said no way, they sent me a new machine without argument or hoops to jump through, and it's been working fabulously ever since. So now that it's been working well for about four months, I'm happy to update and say that I still love love love having nugget ice available all the time, and it's greatly increased my water intake (yay!). I'm very happy with the customer service, even if I was annoyed at first. I mean, to be honest, the good customer service is why I purchased from Euhomy in the first place, so I'm glad they came through. My review happily goes from 1 star to 5. Original review, Feb 20, 2023: I'm so upset! I purchased this ice machine on November 2nd, 2023. It's been working great and I've loved having nugget ice! But my ice machine broke last week. The add water button continually flashed, no matter what I did. So I contacted customer support. Long story short, they had me remove the back of the machine, which was a pain in the butt and which I will probably never get back on exactly correctly. They had me test the interior floater in the upper water tank as well as the water pump. The water pump is bad. ***They want to send me a water pump and have me install it!*** They even included a link to instructions, which tells me this is not an uncommon occurrence. I purchased this brand of ice machine specifically because of all the glowing reviews here about their great customer service. Offering to send a new water pump and have me install it on a 3 1/2 month old machine is unacceptable, as far as I'm concerned. The email offering to send me a water pump ends with this: "If this is inconvenient for you, we fully understand and respect your decision. Please let us know how you would like to proceed." So I responded, "Thank you but no, I do not want to be responsible for replacing a water pump in a brand new ice machine. Respectfully, I request a replacement machine." Maybe that's all it will take, but I'm not holding my breath. So frustrating.

I bought this despite the reviews where people were having issues so close to purchase, thinking of course, that won't happen to me. Well, it did. Two weeks shy of it's one year anniversary, this icy puppy has given up it's bone. It had been moved inside to our kitchen after our travels and was making ice fine, albeit noisily. There were no indications that there was a problem. Then it recently started squeaking and the next morning the entire watery contents were spilled all over the counter and on the floor - right under the refrigerator it was sitting next to😮💨. So disappointed. At the price we paid, it should last at least a year! After helping me clean up the mess and consoling my sobbing ugly crying, the curious family engineer (real life went to school engineer) pulled the cover off to figure out what failed. The assessment (See pics) - based on the scale marks and rust, this thing has been leaking for a while and basically rusted out. The water is leaking out of the metal cooling chamber. I am probably just going to replace with the half price version at the big box warehouse store. At least I won't feel so taken advantage of about the price and I can take it back if it breaks before the year is out. Recommendation: Do NOT buy! It was nice while it worked, but I do not recommend this ice maker/brand based on my experience and the other reviews where it failed after such a short time. ----------------- Previous Review: We bought this for our outdoor kitchen in our RV so we would have enough ice without having to do ice trays. It makes wonderful ice. I love the size and texture and probably go through three 32 oz. cups packed to the brim each day and there is still enough for the rest of the family to have some too. lol This icemaker does get hot and is a bit loud for use inside a rig if you are just planning to leave it plugged in on the counter. In the outdoor kitchen though, the noise isn't a problem. We leave ours running 24/7 so we do leave the outdoor kitchen hatch propped open slightly in the summer to keep the air moving so it doesn't overheat. We have ours hooked up to a water supply so I don't have to constantly add water. I can't imagine that it would go very long without being refilled because it makes ice pretty fast. The ice bucket is only slightly insulated, but because it is nugget ice, it melts fast anyway. So if you want to build up an ice stash, you would need to transfer the ice to the freezer. Depending on how warm the ambient temperature is, the ice in the basket sometimes also stays wet. So far, we are two months in on the Gulf Coast heading into summer and it is still making great ice using it every day. Overall, even being more expensive than the regular countertop ice makers, I would still buy this one again. Recommend.

I have had a few different small ice makers, but this one is by far the best. The small Sonic ice is wonderful. The ice basket is larger than I expected. When full, it will almost fill a gallon size ziplock. If I kept up with it, it will fill at least 3 or 4 of those each day. I do use filtered water with it because of past experiences with funky tasting ice. We have 4 heavy ice users in my house and this machine kept up with us in this Texas heat. I also have a completely full 2 1/2 gallon ziplock in the freezer for backup. It took me a day to get used to it but this is how it works: After the ice basket is full or needs water, it will put a notification up and kind of go to sleep. As soon as you open the lid to either remove the ice or fill with water, it turns itself back on. While it is in that mode, the ice will slowly melt and it will not turn itself back on until the lid it opened and closed again. Even if the basket is empty. I absolutly love this ice maker. Not to mention it was way cheaper than other crushed ice makers I was saving up for. If you have been thinking about one... this is it.

We bought this ice machine, not quite a year ago now. It makes the best ice. For Americans who live in the South, think Sonic Ice. It's Sonic Ice. It's soft, it's chewable, it's amazing. Older people, or those with ice cravings, will love this. Your dentist will appreciate you not ruining your teeth on the harder ice. They're fairly quiet, fit on top of your counter no problem, I'd say it's a little taller & wider than one of those big plastic laundry bottles and probably the same length if that helps you when deciding if this will fit your space. It has a self clean! RUN THE SELF CLEAN! For the love of everything holy, please run the self clean. Mold will build up in any machine like this if you do not. This one alerts you when it needs to be cleaned, but I suggest cleaning it like it says in the book, once every gallon of water, I think it is. It's not hard. Mine did start making a grinding noise about 8 months in. We contacted customer support, and they sent us a new one. It showed up at our door like 2 days later. They were amazing. I'm hoping they are able to address which ever part it is that is wearing down, or give us a way to replace the part. The ice machine is amazing, and it's such a shame to just throw them out for grinding and slow ice. We're going to take apart the old one and see if we can identify the part that is making the noise so that we can try to find a fix. If so, I'll update this so that others can also fix theirs. These really are just the most amazing machines. I tell all my friends about this machine. BEST ICE MACHINE EVER!

Began using this same design ice maker (under a different name) about 2 1/2 years ago, connected directly to a RO water system. This kept the unit very clean and the ice was superb. Operation was automatic, 24/7 running daily thanks to the direct water line connection. The ice is perfect. The unit just runs and runs and while it isn't a speed demon, it is consistent and can fill the bin in about 3 hours. I think most of these countertop nugget ice makers are essentially the same but housed in different enclosure designs. My primary must have feature is a water line connection. That's why I stay with this particular design and it has become "The Devil I know." Here are the caveats that I'm willing to live with due to the satisfaction with this unit when it works flawlessly. 1. It will die in some way. Likely in about 2 years or so. In my case, something failed in the ice making component that freezes and pushes out the ice and it expanded upward and broke apart in pieces and even forcing the plastic enclosure top piece completely off the unit. Not recoverable. For this reason, you should consider the extended warranty, which I'll be exploring submitting a claim after the holidays. 2. If you store a spare unit after some initial use like I did after I got an identical second new ice maker unit for half price after about a year of owning the first one, make sure it is very clean. I just put my spare back in service after a year and the pump didn't work. I fixed it by opening up the back panel to blow some compressed air through the pump to free the "sticktion". In conclusion, buy the extended warranty, enjoy the ice, enjoy the direct water connection, keep it clean, possibly use RO water and keep a spare unit for when it eventually fails in some way after 18 - 32 months. When you consider how nice the ice is for what works out to about $25/mo over 32 months for two machines, it's not that expensive (IMO). We use it all day every day.

Update: As several videos on reviews show, the problem I am having should be a known issue at Euhomy. Several reviews say that the ice maker was replaced or a full refund offered. Euhomy says they cannot replace the ice maker because they no longer stock this model. They will not replace with a model of equal or greater value. Because I have had the ice maker 11 months and near the end of the 12-month warranty, they initially offered a 50% refund. I refused their offer and they went to 60% citing that it's near the end of the warranty period. As I see it, their warranty says it's for 12-months. There is no mention of a descending value. If it's within the warranty period, there shouldn't be a difference whether it's day 1 or day 364. I've reduced this to 1 star due to lifespan and having to negotiate their warranty. Despite enjoying the machine when it worked, I cannot recommend this product or any other from this manufacturer. I work in commercial kitchen equipment sales and wanted a nugget ice maker for my home. Most commercial machines were overkill for my needs so after researching, I chose Euhomy. Overall, this is a terrific countertop nugget ice maker. It produces great nuggets quickly enough to be used at parties of 25 people. I like that I could connect a water supply from my RO system which makes it easy to keep a full bucket at all times. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars has more to do with support than with the product. Though I'm having a problem with my specific ice maker, I still believe it to be a very good machine. After 11 months, the ice maker started making a loud noise and not ejecting ice into the bin. I contacted the manufacturer and they asked for the normal things such as description of the problem, proof of purchase date, picture of the manufacturer plate and even a short video of the issue. They quickly responded with some things to try but nothing helped. They offered to send me a replacement water pump although water seemed to flow properly. They then asked me to clean all areas that come into contact with water including tubes and lines inside the machine with a vinegar solution. This required removal of the outer shell as well as dissambly of some internal parts. There were no diagrams or instructions included. I'm not an appliance technician but performed the suggested process and reassembled the unit. No improvement. While I appreciate the troubleshooting suggestions, it seems strange and potentially hazardous for a manufacturer suggesting any level of disassembly of an electric appliance by an end user. As of the time of this review, I've let Euhomy know that I followed their suggestions but it did not fix the issue. I'm waiting to hear on what their next steps will be but I don't plan to do anything more internally on the machine.

I purchased this machine and it worked beautifully for maybe a week or two and the. It started making these very loud noises. The noises got more frequent and then the machine quit working altogether. I would turn it on and it would try to run and then tell me to add water. I attempted to get a replacement through Amazon but the 30 day term deadline had just passed and I was told to take it up with Euhomy directly. I followed all the prompts and troubleshooting they provided first and then was taken to their website where I found a support email. I contacted their support team and explained the issues and they came back within 24 hours with more troubleshooting options. After going through those, I responded again stating that it did not work and they had a few more options to try… But ultimately we could not get it to run. Once we determine that the machine was faulty, they had a replacement sent to me within two days. I’ve had the new machine now for a few weeks with no loud noises and no issues so far! It Makes the little sonic type ice which is fabulous! The support team was very helpful and very quick to respond and I am very happy with my machine now and hopefully will not have any problems in the future!

UPDATE 11/27: So rather than replacing the machine, I did troubleshooting. After doing the troubleshooting they had me take the machine apart following video instructions. After that they are now going going to send me a replacement water pump where I am supposed to follow another video and replace the water pump myself. Support is responsive, the videos are clear on what to do. However, the fact this item is 90 days old, failed and I am doing the repair work on parts is not acceptable. While the product is good and one of the few with a direct water intake, the fact you have to self service and self support compared to others is a huge negative. So if you aren't the type of person who can take things apart, troubleshoot mechanical components and figure things out on your own, buyer beware on this one. Item 4 Warranty 1 Support 2 Overall rating: 2 Exactly at the 90 day mark the machine has stopped making ice. Up until this point the machine was a champ. I am giving this a 3 start review as I have opened a ticket with EUHOMY to see how customer support will go. Based on that I will make my final determination on the review. Things to note: The ice maker wants to be cleaned twice a week with a deep cleaning every couple of weeks. It isn't too time consuming, but is needed to keep the machine running well. It makes a lot of ice, fast. This was the biggest thing for us. We use a lot of ice and this thing has been great at that. It has kept up with our demands for always having ice ready. It is one of the few devices that supports a water line connection to keep a constant supply of ice ready. Sometimes it can't get a bit noisy, if it does that means you need to be cleaning it more often. If you aren't using the ice fast enough if will melt and recycle it. Then it can start to taste funny. That happened only once for us when we were in and out for a few days.
