Actual battery life depends on several factors such as the number of times motion is detected, event recording duration, and environmental temperatures. *Using solar charging allows forever power. Why doesn't my SoloCam S340 battery stay at 100%? Power collected by the solar panel depends on the weather and available sunlight. If little energy is collected in a day, the battery level may go down. It can run for up to 3 months on battery and it will be charged once the weather is sunny. Can SoloCam S340 be installed vertically on the ceiling? Yes. The camera can be installed vertically on the ceiling or horizontally on the wall with a separate solar panel (ideal for strong solar power), or horizontally on the wall with an attached solar panel (minimal drilling required). Does SoloCam S340 support 24x7 recording? No. Battery cameras aren't currently capable of 24/7 recording, even if connected to HomeBase 3（with firmware version V3.3.2.6 and above）. First of all I have to say I’m highly impressed with this camera system. I’ve had cheaper systems previously and for the couple extra hundred dollars. There are a mountain of features that feel necessary after having it for some time. The tracking of people, cars, and animals works perfectly. The auto detection is always accurate. The addition of being able to add recognized people is a surprising bonus that isn’t needed but it’s a nice addition. I also was under the impression I needed to run a subscription for most of the features but that was not the case at all. All the non subscription features are all still great unlike other systems I’ve tried. It doesn’t force the subscription on you and is fully functional without it. The setup was easy, the quality of the feed is great, and the tracking range gets everything you need. The dual-camera system provides excellent coverage, and the 3K video quality is incredibly sharp both during the day and at night. I can clearly see faces, packages, and movement details without any issues. The solar charging feature is one of my favorite parts because it keeps the camera powered with very little maintenance. Installation was simple, and the app setup was quick and user-friendly. Motion detection alerts are accurate, and I appreciate being able to check live footage anytime from my phone. The pan and tilt functionality adds extra coverage compared to standard fixed cameras, making it feel much more secure around the house. These cameras are pretty good. Good clarity, good tracking, not too sensitive or lacking sensitivity. Picks up wildlife around my property when I have animal detection turned on. Human tracking is ideal. I do recommend following the installation instructions and mount the camera(s) so they detect at an angle. Head on monitoring doesn't always pick up a person approaching the house. Easy setup and if you need a larger amount of storage, purchase the Home Base. Battery life is good. The solar panels recharge the batteries well. The only downfall I have found is that when viewing Live View, there is an annoying pop-up every couple of minutes causing you to either keep live view going or cancel live viewing. I rely heavily on live view and I monitor my battery level so I don't need a pop-up that cancels the live view if you don't choose to continue it. I have sent a suggestion to the manufacturer explaining my issue. I think (I'm no pro at how this all works) it may just be a programming change in software (app). We'll see. Anyway, aside from that, I would recommend the to someone looking for good PTZ, solar charged security cameras. ... show more

This is a picture of a crane in my koi pond. I was not home at the time. This camera alerted me on my phone that something was there. I set off the alarms/lights on the camera and the crane flew away. This camera has saved me a lot of money by alerting me when something comes up. Koi Fish cost a lot of money and it alerts me when something is there trying to eat them. I absolutely love this camera. The great thing about it is it does not have to have a subscription. It hooks directly to your Internet and your phone with no problem. It is also solar powered so we do not have to have electricity running to it. It works well, even on cloudy days. When a person is near, it tells me that a person has been spotted.I can’t say enough positive about this camera. I like it so much that I just purchased another one. Great product! ... show more

I bought this camera after a lot of thinking. I thought that being a solar camera it would not perform very good, and also was a little worry the weather would tear it apart. I was wrong! The camera is very easy to setup with my home WiFi (make sure you have a strong signal). The video quality is excellent and you can switch from 3K HD to full HD (1080P) or HD (720P). The app has many features and works very well! Its notification is excellent, you can also setup the streaming quality, the recording settings, it has night view and what I really like the most is its AI capability that locks up on the subject and follows it! (this works great!) I mounted this camera using a gutter bracket so I did not have to drill holes and I really like this option. I was so pleased with this camera that I bought another one and I am waiting for the price to drop to buy the third one! We have had several winter/spring storms and the camera has not had a glitch!
