2/22/26 It was definitely my router causing the issue! If you live in a wifi congested area i.e. apartments or tightly packed houses or if you're just experiencing connection issues I can say it is likely your router. I had the Gryphon routers and upgraded to the newest Gryphon AX router and it solved my connection issues with the Eufy cameras. They now connect fast and stay online. I also get the notifications much faster which is good for my isolated property. Please read the rest of this review to see my struggles. It's not the cameras it's your WiFi! 2/18/26 Okay, I first need to say these cameras do work and work really well. However, if you have a lot of IoT devices and or live around a lot of others broadcasting 2.4 Ghz channels then you may experience issues. I personally have a large amount of IoT devices broadcasting on the 2.4 Ghz channel and causing interference with the cameras. When the signal is good the cameras are fast to connect but other than that they are intermittent. This isn't an issue with Eufy though and the only real way to fix the issue is to remove devices or change channels on the wifi router. I tried different channels but that didn't help. The IoT devices followed and swamped the signal again. The Eufy appears to broadcast on channel 1 but I've noticed it change itself to channel 3 also. This isn't adjustable on the settings which is a bummer. You can download a free wifi analyzer on your phone and see the networks and congestion of any. I should have done this in advance as I would have purchased the wired EufyCam system using PoE. I have another camera system that is PoE cameras and it's rock solid. Again, my issues aren't with Eufy, it's with my network. 2/10/26 I am more impressed with their tech support, which I should have known would be great since their owned by Anker. (I love Anker battery backups) I had previously written my experience below but after some modifications and help with their support the system is great! I added the Eufy Smart Display and that was the game changer! It alerts me while I'm sitting on the couch and instantly shows me the display. The app I still think could use some improvements but I've learned more about the settings and stuff so that's helped a lot. I am writing this in my own opinion and not by or for Anker and or Eufy. That being said Eufy did offer me two free batteries for the cameras or a reimbursement of the product via email which was nice. I declined as I didn't feel that was right since I hadn't fully learned the system and I now love it. Take your time and definitely reach out to their support team if you need help! I have four other camera systems around my house and property with a total of about 20 cameras. (Backed up by Anker) That being said I am really good with camera apps and their systems and setup. I will admit this one took just a few more steps than I anticipated but again I reached out to their support team and things started working better. This is my original review, just ignore my ignorance. I only leave it so you can see my honest reviews and opinions as I set this product up. And yes, I purchased this setup with my own money and no discounts. Original: I really want to like these cameras and maybe one day after some firmware updates I will. I purchased this and it's my honest review. Pros. 1. Pan tilt zoom is great. 2. Dual cameras is great 3. Setup was a breeze with the Homebase 3. 4. Install was super simple and I hardwired them for constant power. 5. Picture quality is great even in zoom. 6. Much more. Cons. 1. The app has some lag occasionally. There is no way that I have found so far to quickly mute the motion detection on the cameras. So when I go to mow or work outside on something I'm constantly setting off the alarm. I have to go deep into the app for both cameras and uncheck the alarm and or motion. Then I have to go back and recheck those boxes to get the alarms I want. With Ring, you can mute the motion and alarms in two clicks on the main screen. It also seems to be very sensitive to snow. I have lowered the sensitivity down to one. Which I don't like but it seems to keep the snow from triggering the alarm. 2/4/26 Edit: Eufy tech support is pretty good, they were able to help get some things working. Overall I would recommend this camera system as it's benefits outweigh the cons. Just overall the app seems heavy and bulky to use. You have to go between multiple screens to make simple changes. I would love for someone to correct me. I have not reached out to their tech support as I've only had them installed a couple of days now. ... show more

Super 4k video quality - - easy set up/activation - - no monthly fees

I know people either love or hate Eufy products . . . I happen to be one of those that love them. I've had Eufy cameras for years and have them at 2 homes and 3 other rental properties. They're great for rental properties because of the ease of transfer/change with tenants move in/out. They're also great for the obvious reason that there's no required monthly fee . . . and of course, the video quality is great. I got this 4 camera + HomeBase3 kit to replace an older HomeBase 2 and Cam2Pro cameras. Pros: - same quick and easy set up with adding the new devices to my existing account using the app - the 4K resolution is amazing - - fantastic clarity in the recordings (even at night using infared), tho audio can be scratchy if it's windy - the kit comes with everything you need and Eufy was fantastic with customer support when I asked about extra extension cables for a longer solar panel run. I just msg'd them asking if using my own extensions would work and they sent a couple out quickly and gratis - the tracking ability of these cameras is great and they track smoothly and quietly so subjects don't hear or realize a camera is tracking them at all Cons: - the cameras are quite large - - especially if you connect the solar panels directly. This means there's no easy way to mount them in a discrete way so they're tucked away and not clearly visible. We mounted all of them using the extension cable for the solar panel, so that makes them a little less bulky & obvious. - the cameras use a lot of battery when set to their highest resolution video settings so more attention needs to be taken to ensure the solar panels are mounted to get optimal sun exposure. We have the panels either gutter mounted or roof beam mounted. They get good sun exposure so even with cameras set to "optimal surveillance" on super busy days (ie, when gardeners are here), batteries have never dropped below 75%. Keeping the cameras charged is not a problem if your panels are positioned well. Overall, I continue to be impressed and happy with Eufy systems. We've replaced many older devices with newer ones, but have always done so because of wanting to upgrade quality and (so far) never because of failure. ... show more

Outstanding Security Camera with impressive technology.

I’ve been using the EufyCam S4 for about 5 days, and I’m genuinely impressed with how advanced and reliable it is. One of my favorite features is the motion tracking. The camera doesn’t just detect movement—it actually follows the person or object as it moves across the area. That gives me much better coverage and peace of mind because I know the camera won’t miss important activity. The dual-camera setup is another feature that really stands out. Having both a wide-angle view and a tracking camera working together provides excellent surveillance coverage. The wide lens captures the full scene, while the tracking lens zooms in and follows movement, which helps eliminate blind spots around the property. The 4K video quality is excellent. The image is incredibly sharp and clear, making it easy to recognize faces, vehicles, or other details even at a distance. Daytime footage looks great, and night performance is also very solid. I also appreciate how well the camera integrates with the Eufy HomeBase S380. Setup was straightforward, and everything works smoothly through the Eufy Security App. Being able to manage alerts, recordings, and settings from the app makes the system very convenient to use. Overall, the EufyCam S4 delivers excellent picture quality, intelligent motion tracking, and innovative dual-camera surveillance. Worked great for 1 week and then just stopped working

Bought these cameras and was impressed with the packaging and build quality. I was able to connect 3 out of the 4 cameras to the homebase with no issues but the 4th camera took me about 20 tries, but it did eventually connect. Installed them all according to the instructions and 3 of the 4 cameras worked great, but that 4th camera kept giving me issues and basically never allowed me to view the camera stream (It might connect maybe 1 out of 100 tries). I figured it was a signal issue even though it is much closer and has a better line of sight to the homebase than some of the other working cameras. No problem, I took it down and brought it into the same room as the homebase but it still would not allow me to view the camera stream. Then I tried to reset the device, no luck. Then i tried to remove the device from homebase and re-add it but it would not re-connect. The sync button did not beep as expected and finally after at least 40+ tries it finally beeped and connected... but still no camera stream. Hmmm no problem i figured this one camera might be faulty so I initiated a warranty replacement. The other three cameras continued working perfectly for one week and then suddenly all of them stopped detecting people. I made sure the app was up to date, the firmware was up to date, reset all the devices, unplugged their batteries, changed every setting I could in the app.... no luck. When I changed the setting to detect cars it worked perfectly, when I changed the settings to detect all motion it worked perfectly, but when I set it to detect humans (which it did flawlessly for 1 week) it would not work. The only time it could detect a person is if I stood directly in front of it less than 5 feet away staring right into the camera. Its a real bummer because even though one of the cameras never worked, the other three worked great for one week but then they just suddenly stopped. Great camera

I was very intrigued by these cameras but I have to say I am very happy with the purchase. The video quality is good the battery life so far seems good with the solar mount. Connectivity could be faster but it loads up pretty fast. The set up was very easy as well. Do be warned that for some reason until you connect/activate them they seem to not charge. I tried to pre charge 3 before setting them up 1 by one and noticed after the first one that the rest did not charge at all despite being on a charger for a whole day. Works Fo My Needs

Good overal cameras. Very good resolution both day and night. Lots of features like AI facial recognition, homebase connectivity or wi-fi connection (without homebase), plenty of storage available with upgrades possible with homebase. Very durable and "heavy" feel to them. Good battery life, unless using live view, which diminishes the battery more than just recording video when triggered. Very easy to setup both wi-fi and home base. Connectivity is a bit of an issue at times. When going into live view, sometimes it takes a few seconds to up to a minute. This is kind of expected since it is wireless. There are also lags in the PTZ control but, again, it's wireless so this is kind of expected. The trigger distance is not the best, sometimes it doesn't trigger when a vehicle approaches the house and the triggers can be delayed a few seconds. Overall, they do fine for my setup. However, if speed and connectivity are a must have for you, I would look into POE options as they are hardwired and would reduce/eliminate and delays or lags. Update 9/2/2026: These cameras are a headache when it comes to Live View. I have the cameras as close a feasible to the hub and a moderately fast internet connection (300-500Mbps) and Live View constantly freezes, won't load, won't pan, etc. They seem to detect and record OK but I use Live View extensively to monitor when delivery drivers enter my property. It's frustrating trying to see who has arrived while camera Live View is trying to load. Not sure if it is the 2.4ghz transmission speed or weak antennas. I know 5ghz is much faster but not as strong as 2.4ghz. So, again, if responsiveness and speed are a necessity in Live View, I would steer clear of Wi-Fi cameras. If you do not use the Live View, these cameras do a fine job of detecting and recording events. I live on quite a few acres and I'm constantly being alerted of wildlife around the house (which is fine because we have a few pesky ones like raccoons). I've lowered my review from 4-stars to 3-stars because the Live View is pretty much useless. Thinking of trying another Wi-Fi camera brand with a much stronger Wi-Fi strength to add to my Eufy cameras for, hopefully, a more reliable Live View. I plan on leaving my Eufy cams up and using them for their panning ability and efficient event recording. ... show more

About the Eufy S4 WiFi camera

UPDATE - 2026-03-13 The issues previously stated in my review have been cleared up thanks to Eufy's great customer service. Long story short, after talking with Carla from Eufy they offered to replace the unit. The replacement is working without incident. I also added the Eufy WiFi Repeater and that seems to have sped up overall response time for my cameras when I use the Eufy app. I'm very pleased with how this has turned out. Considering I have 17 Eufy devices, it is not terrible odds to have finally gotten one that didn't work as intended, especially considering Eufy made things right in the end. The Eufy S4 continues to be the best security camera I've gotten so far. FIRST REVIEW: I was very excited about getting the Eufy S4. I already own 7 Eufy cameras and the Eufy S4 was my newest step up in the Eufy line. I am the neighborhood Eufy guy so I was hoping to recommend it to my neighbors but now... Initially both of my Eufy S4 cameras worked well. I bought the Eufy 2 cam kit that comes with a HomeBase 3. Both of my S4's are connected to the HomeBase 3, nothing else is connected to that HomeBase 3. I also have a second HomeBase 3 and a HomeBase 2. I'm having problems with one of the S4's. It worked fine for a few days after I set it up. Then it started to only work sporadically until finally it stopped. I reset/synched it and it worked again for about a day. Now it again works sporadically and it won't do Live View at all. At present it's not responding at all but still shows as Online. It's becoming a real headache. I will likely try to reset it and the HomeBase3 again but if that doesn't work I'll have to send the whole kit back which would be disappointing. The camera is only about 8 to 10 feet away from its HomeBase3 with a window between them. The S4 that works is about 30 feet away. All cameras are hardwired for power. I will keep searching for answers and will post here if I find them but for now I won't be recommending the EufyCam S4 to anyone which is a real bummer. ... show more

Buy something else. While the camera’s functionality is commendable, the accompanying app exhibits significant shortcomings. Notably, every setting adjustment, excluding the modification of Wi-Fi connections, necessitates the use of the application which is fine. The primary issue with the application is its intermittent disconnection from the camera, the home base, and essentially all Eufy devices. It is so slow it's painful. And you can set all the devices at one. You have to go through every single device, click, wait, wait, and maybe successful / maybe not. Occasionally, this frequent connection issue can be resolved by closing the application and reconnecting. Another design flaw is the requirement to climb the ladder to change the Wi-Fi connection. Finally, the most frustrating aspect of this software is the inability to disable or restrict notifications during specific time periods. For instance, if your home is occupied on a weekend with family or if you utilize this “commercial-grade” camera in a business environment you will receive hundreds of notifications as individuals move about their daily routines. According to the support team, which can only be contacted through the application (unless the camera loses connection, in which case you must wait until you can reconnect), this functionality is not available. They have provided three methods to pause notifications: 1. Disable notifications for each device individually (10 devices - 10 slow setting switches while observing the spinning dial to determine if the disconnection was successful. Then, turn notifications back on and observe the spinning dial to confirm the reconnection, which takes approximately 10-15 minutes every day, twice a day). 2. Set a snooze timer for a specific duration, which must be done every day, for EVERY Device. 3. Completely disable notifications, leaving an intruder with the opportunity to break into your home or business without being alerted until they have made off with your belongings. Let's talk about the home base.. It keeps telling me to Format the hard drive and update the firm. Both Fail! Doesn't matter where i am or what device. It fails to update or format.
