I already had one of these and decided to get a few more. When I went looking, I found a new "Solo" version. Not all new versions are better... The Solo version strips out some important features like the ability to stream RTSP to your own recorder or viewer. Speculation is that this is to "nudge" (force?) folks to subscribing to cloud storage plans. So, off to finding the older model. Great little cam for the price. Best feature is the motion detection with built-in AI capabilities to recognized people and/or pets. I get very few false triggers. This is way better than the regular motion detection which is subject to false triggering by things blowing in the wind or moving lights or shadows. As always, understand that these need to be connected to the internet to boot and access video. And, of course, you have no real control over what goes through their servers, even though the documentation says that video stays on the device (must add micro-SD card). Also, there's no real guarantee that these servers will always be available. That said, I put these on a separate WiFi network with all the other devices I know nothing about or pose unknown security risks. If you have a "guest" network capability, I suggest connecting these cameras to it instead of your primary network. ... show more

I never ever imagined that a $30 camera could be this good. I spent a fortune on a full-blown DVR camera package, only to find out that this $30 camera is every bit as good and more reliable than my expensive system. Simple to set up has a great picture and excellent sound quality. Not to mention, I can speak to the person on the camera and they can speak to me. My $500 system doesn't even do that. I am frustrated that I wasted so much money on something that I could have done for around $150 bucks! Live and learn! ... show more

    • Stopped working after 5 months
I initially the camera was great (user friendly, reasonably priced, and worked). However 5 months after purchasing the camera has stopped connecting via WiFi, an is unable to connect via Bluetooth after a factory reset (instructed by manufacture). Now I have a paperweight. Additionally it’s unable to be returned or replaced. If you get a working one great but longevity may be an issue. ... show more

I have been using this camera for at least a month now. I bought this camera to keep an eye on my dog while I'm out running errands or at work. Overall the quality of the camera is great for just $40. It was very easy to set up, is portable, and connects to wifi. I tend to stay at an Airbnb for a few months at a time for work and it makes me feel safe to be able to check-in or have a camera. I can also provide access to my family members so they can also check in to make sure I'm safe. The camera and sound quality is pretty good but there is a like hum noise that you will hear, which is minor. You will need to buy a small memory card if you want to have recordings saved. You can change the settings one when the camera records or if you want it to constantly record. Often the camera will sense something and record when in fact there was nothing to trigger it. The app is easy to use. I have not had any complications with the app or the camera so far. I would consider purchasing Eufy products again in the future. ... show more
