First of all, Great Job Amazon for delivering this Prime item in 1 day! I ordered it last night and it arrived today! This is the perfect Port extender / docking solution for my HP Envy Laptop. It comes with the following ports: 1 HDMI port that supports an extended display from my laptop. With the laptop HDMI port, I can now support 3 monitors including my laptop monitor all running in extended desktop mode. I love having 3 monitors!! I connected this HDMI port to my 4K TV and verified that it does support the 4K resolution.. While I don't need 4K, its good to know it is available if needed. 3 - USB 3.0 High speed ports. Perfect for plugging in high speed peripherals such as external backup hard drives or SSD's, USB flash drives, etc. I verified all of these work for the various USB storage devices I have including USB flash drives and my passport USB 1 TB external backup drive . 1 USB 2.0 port. This is perfect for my wireless keyboard and mouse transmitter that can always be plugged in (see picture) 1 SD card port and 1 micro SD card port - This is perfect for easy transfer of video and pictures from your camera, phone, etc. In addition, the storage capacity of SD and micro SD devices have become so large that they can easily be considered for offline or backup storage that simply is plugged into the hub. 256 GB - 500 Gb microSD cards are available for reasonable prices and are a great backup alternative to external HD's. USB-C powered port - This is a port that pairs the hub with a high power USB-C power adapter to power the laptop you are plugged into. This provides a true docking solution that provides charging power as well as all the external connections with a single USB-C connection to the laptop. Unfortunately this doesn't work with My HP Envy nor any HP computer from what I understand as HP doesn't support this.     • Just PERFECT for Samsung Dex!
I like that it has a travel pouch of its own. It really looks cool to use it. I got this specifically for connecting my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ to a monitor so I can use Samsung Dex to simulate a desktop computer. It works perfectly. Plugging the USB for a wired mouse/keyboard combo went just fine. It even works even if I disconnect the power cord (although the hub will stop charging the phone). If you want the HDMI connection to your external screen to always work even without power, the key is to FIRST put the power cord, the HDMI, USB wired mouse and keyboard and all the other connections to the USB C Hub BEFORE connecting to your phone or the main device. After your external screen starts to work, you can remove the power cord to stop charging your phone (when its 80% charged), and it will continue to work. It may restart Dex, but the external monitor will continue to work. Personally, I remove the power cord because I don't want to overcharge my phone. Important Tip: Never connect the power cord to the hub after or when the main device or phone is connected or powering the hub, this may fry your phone. Always connect power cord FIRST BEFORE connecting the main device or phone. Yes, the HDMI is a little tight. But you are not suppose attach and remove it often. The trick is to wiggle the HDMI as you pull it out. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Good USB-C Peripheral hub, with some reservations.
I bought this USB-C hub for docking my Lenovo Duet Chromebook with my desktop monitor, provide an SD/MicroSD card reader, connect thumb drives and my PD charger, and it does all of that and does it well, except the connection to my monitor part. This adapter does not support monitor resolutions above 720p on my Lenovo Duet Chromebook. To be fair, had I done more research before buying this adapter, I would have learned the Lenovo Duet has known problems with connecting higher-resolution monitors via HDMI unless a DisplayPort capable hub is used. This hub doesn't provide DisplayPort capability, so my monitor was stuck at 720p. That means this hub should work really well for me as a travel adapter, but not as a desktop dock when I'm at home. I did find, however, find some USB-C adapters with "DisplayPort" capability that WILL support higher resolution monitors via HDMI. I bought a MoKIN "Docking Station, USB C Adapter Dual HDMI, 9 in 1 Triple Display Multiport Adapter Dongle with 2 HDMI 4K, DisplayPort, 3 USB, 100W PD, SD/TF Card Reader for MacBook Pro Air Type C Laptops" (available here on Amazon), and that works really, really well for me. That doesn't mean this is a bad USB-C adapter. It just isn't the right adapter for me. Pros: * A good travel-sized adapter. Fairly compact. * Supports pass-through PD charging (you provide the PD charger & cable) * 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 ports * 1 SD card port, One MicroSD card port * 1 HDMI port -- That, depending on your laptop/Smartphone/Chromebook may only work at 720p. Cons: * No Ethernet connection (which may not matter much in a WiFi household, but is nice to have sometimes) * HDMI port does not have a DisplayPort front-end, so some devices are limited to 720p external monitor resolutions. * Gets hot sometimes. ... show more
