  • Good feel and balance - great on cymbals or drums
Style: Single
I had been using mallets that were a combination drumstick/mallet. Those were great for mallet work, but the design trade-offs for dual purpose use resulted in less than optimum balance. Plus, since I play traditional grip the left mallet felt awkward. These, on the other hand, are perfect in every sense. The feel and balance give me good control. They are heavier than most mallets because they are made from oak, which is denser and heavier. However, it's the slight contour in the shaft that I believe gives makes the difference and gives it the feel and balance that I love. Pro-Mark claims medium hardness on the felt end. I would say for felt they are a bit harder than claimed, but still soft enough to attenuate notes on both cymbals and drum heads. I love the feel, but you will probably need to try them in person to determine for yourself. For mallets I play matched grip, so the .6 inch diameter and relatively short length (14.25 inches) also add to the control I have when doing cymbal swells or playing tom patterns. In addition to using these as strikers I also use them to tame down wild, trashy new cymbals. This mainly applies to very thin jazz cymbals, which require play-in time. If you want to hasten the play-in process, mallet rolls is a common trick many of us use. This entails taking a pair of these mallets and rolling them around the cymbal for 20 minutes per day for a week or so. Start at the outside edge and work your way towards the bell, going around the circumference of the cymbal. If you are seeking a set of mallets that are truy multi-purpose for drum kits give these a serious look. ... show more

  • Beautiful and high quality
Style: Single
I love the material on the sticks. It is perfect for my Rav Vast drum which works well with just hands but being that I have arthritic hands - this makes playing the drum more pleasurable. The wood is made in Japan and the top part material part looks similar to boiled wool. The most important thing to me is it won't scratch my precious drum. ... show more

  • Good pair of mallets

A bit expensive, but well made. A little short for my preference tho.

  • These are great
Style: Single
I got them to use with a KORG wavedrum, and they feel and sound excellent. The drum sensor knows if you're using hands, sticks or mallets, so I wanted these for those dampened hits, that more naturally mimic a bass drum or eastern Tom style drums. Works exactly as I expected, and they feel sturdy, at times I'll use one mallet and one stick, or bare hand, or turn the mallet around while playing to use the handle for sharper hits. You won't find mallets of this quality for this price anywhere else... And I'd say every drummer, especially if you're using a wavedrum or world drums, should have these in your arsenal. ... show more

  • Great Drum Mallets Please the Birthday Boy!
Style: Single
These were a great buy that I purchased, with a drumstick carrier, for one of my grandsons for his birthday. He just loves them and was really happy with them for his birthday present. He said they were a very good brand and proceeded to show me how they work. He also loved the case that I got to go with the mallets. They were a good buy, and just what my grandson wanted for his birthday. So glad that Gramma can still pick out good presents for a 19 year old. :-) ... show more

  • Good mallets
Style: Single
These are very good little mallets. I love that it’s the same wood they use for their sticks, easy to hold and comfortable. For the price I think these mallets are some of the best.
