Overall this espresso machine has worked great! Operation of it is easy and fun to learn. The only issues I ran into was the steam wand clogging up due to the well water witching my area. That can be a simple fix by using distilled or filtered water from the store and making sure to stay on top of descaling cycles. Due to the steam wand breaking I have had to contact customer support multiple times for the original machine and a second unit CasaBrew sent me. No fault of their own, just the unfortunate side effect of having well water. They have been nothing short of phenomenal when helping me out. They are always prompt in their responses and explanations of the machine and how it functions. On top of that, they sent me a new unit due to the wand not functioning.     • Great product, great customer support and the best looking coffee machine in this range.
Had my Machine for a long time now, making 4-8 cups of coffee a day. It is still perfect and I get the same excitement out of it still. I have gone onto the second grinder now as the previous one did start to need a very fine setting to get the right grind. This is normal wear though. It did work hard. It is easy and very affordable to order another grinder (from Casa Brews) even after the 2nd one has worn out. It would be great to be able to get more clarity on expresso descaling product. The descaling bottles are tiny. Manual says to fill it to the top with descaling product. That's a lot of small bottles and expensive. I just use the espresso descaling tablets rather (if that helps anyone). I have also used white vinegar.. no problem at all, cleaned it beautifully. The information on the product is superior to other brands in my opinion.. well done Casa Brews and thanks for the wonderful and rapid support always! :) ... show more

Had Casabrew Expresso Machine with Grinder for one week and it has been great. Easy to learn how to use and have great coffees without making trips to Starbucks.

    • Great Cup, Give it 5 Minutes Or So
The media could not be loaded. Caveat to my tangent you’re about to read, this is my first espresso machine. I’m not totally oblivious as I did work as a barista in college for 3 years. Looking at my coffee reloads on my statements with my big kid money, I was sure I can make something just as good at home. When 5700 Gense was delivered, I immediately put it together and read the manual. It recommends water be changed out daily… wow. It also recommended tap water… double wow for this nasty calcified water. After filling it with filtered water, I made my self a nice cup of wake-me-up at 8 o’clock at night. And MAN did it taste like freedom from overpriced franchises. Few things I noticed: 1) The grind bracket that holds the handle while the grinds drop was a pain to put on. Be patient with it and it’ll eventually slip in and you won’t have to deal with it anymore unless you change the grinder. Yeah, mine came with an extra grinder head. (Niiiice) 2) You cannot pull shots and froth milk at the same time. Each must pre-heat separately. Preheating the milk wand immediately makes the shot pours unready. 3) Initial warm up is 2 minutes. Switching between the milk wand and the espresso shots after the initial warmup is about 30 seconds. 4) Placing the handle in the brew head is TIGHT. Careful to do this as gently as possible. 5) I tried grinding on 7, 8, and 9. Using 7 was way too fine for an adequate brew and was more water than coffee. Also this pull took forever. Using 8 it just wasn’t right. The color was off. Using 9 had the perfect color and creamy consistency I was looking for. Reading the manual, many of these grinds will depend on your beans. So you’ll need to play with it a little. 6) Last, but not least, give yourself 5-7 minutes when making a cup in the morning. I’m a last minute person so plan for this as it also includes clean up. After cleaning your milk pitcher, place it under the wand as it leaks just a little. Wipe the bottom of the brew head as it also seems to leak a bit as well.     • Worth the money
I'm a bit of a latte addict., I was spending a lot of money at dunkin. One of m friends had a breville machine, she showed my how easy it was to make a latte at home. When I started researching machines breville was even more pricey than this machine. I took a chance and went with this one because its $300 cheaper. I do think the breville machine is nicer overall but for the price, this machine works great once you figure out the bugs. The directions suck, and the video sorta helps but they miss a few steps. On the machine is says to preheat to warm the machine up, the video never mentions that. So that had me stumped for a little bit because the frother has a preheat mode. I kept preheating the frother, which then backed it self up and was blowing steam out the bottom. So beware of that. No idea why that happened, i don't use the frother because I don't want to blow the machine up. I prob did 25 or so test runs the first day i got it,trying to figure out how fine to grind the beans to get the machine in the espresso range. I personally just stick with 8. I played with it a bunch, 8 is what they recommend it seams to work the best. The tamping was another curve ball. You don't need to overtamp, if you do It'll peg the machine way past the espresso pressure. So I do 8 on the grind and a very light tamp and I'm typically on the high end of the espresso pressure bar. Also, they sell the syrups at Marshalls. I paid $7 for the big bottle of the caramel syrup compared to $7 for the mini bottle at target. All in all, I literally love having this machine in my house. This machine will pay for itself in no time. ... show more

Was given this as a birthday present. It did pretty great for 30 days and seemed to fall apart after that. I clean it every day and the grinder weekly. The grinder was the first to go out and then I started using my old grinder. Now I can’t seem to get any pressure from it either. The steam wand also is iffy from one day to the next weather or not I will have foam. Not impressed with it at all. Will call the company tomorrow and see if they will take it back since I’ve only had it 6 weeks ... show more
