I've had more than 7 espresso machines over 15yrs, starting at entry to now very advanced systems. You really get what you pay for with espresso machines, they are not inexpensive machines. This $100-200 mark is very entry level and you'll be missing some features that are valuable. If you're serious about espresso/latte I recommend you spend more money for a better machine. The Good: It warms up very quickly (being a heating element, but read below), very small, very light, two size shot baskets. The steaming quality/temp is not bad for an entry machine, you need to purge first though. The Can be Better: I measured the temp of the water after multiple shots (to ensure everything was hot), this machine struggles to get about 75C and you will not get full extraction at that temperature. The shot volume listed is accurate, 45mL for a single shot (90mL double), but that is too much. A typical espresso shot is 30mL single, 60mL double. There is no way to adjust the shot volume on this machine or make a manual shot. The steam arm needs more swing movement so it doesn't drip onto the counter. You also need a hole into the drip tray to purge it as it first starts with water coming out (typical of this type of machine). After steaming, the water needs to be purged as it is too hot for another espresso shot. This machine cannot auto-purge, so if you are making another espresso shot, you have to ensure you pull a shot of just water to allow the temperature to go down after steaming (more expensive machines will normally purge into the drip tray automatically after steaming). In this price range you get a plastic tamper, you should upgrade to metal and it does not come with a frothing jug, so you'll need to order a stainless one to froth properly. The shot baskets are "pressurized", meaning it helps minimize grind problems, but also produces a very wet puck to clean up afterwards, you cannot "knock" it out. Nearly all entry machines have pressurized baskets and produce wet pucks. Overall: I am able to make a decent tasting espresso or latte with this machine, a little on the weak side, but not bad. I'll use this machine when we travel as I would rather lattes from this vs. drip coffee in a typical kurig. Again, if you're serious about getting into the world of espresso and latte, I recommend you spend more and get something with more features. But for super compact, simple and inexpensive, they may fit the need. Coffee method I use: Warm up machine, when ready, pull one or two double shots into a mug, this is to get everything hot. I grind 17g of fresh beans in my burr grinder set to espresso grind consistency, tamp medium pressure, pull double shot, then switch to steam, when steam is ready, run it first into a mug to help get the water out, then turn level half way back (you'll still hear pump, but it won't steam) then put frothing jug (sold separately) under and steam your milk. After steaming, if you are going to make another shot, put empty mug back under head and pull another double shot, you'll hear the high pressure and temperature water purging out. Enjoy!

My wife loves this espresso maker. It works excellently and is amazingly fast. My wife is a nurse and she takes a giant thermos of coffee with her to work everyday. With this new espresso maker, she has been adding 2-4 shots of espresso to her thermos for that extra kick. I too have tried this out and I am truly amazed by this little machine. My wife did have a few issues following the instructions at first, but with a little help and tinkering, we got it going, and it is really easy to use. We have tried using both regular and finely ground coffee and the machine puts outs excellent espresso with both. The unit is quite compact and should fit on most counters, even in older homes with lower cabinets. This unit is also quite easy to clean and maintain, and my wife likes that the tank is removable. Seems to be really good quality, with stainless parts. Great buy in my opinion.

ILAVIE Espresso Coffee Machines 20 Bar is a good mid level espresso machine, its compact size makes it perfect for smaller spaces. The machine heats up quickly so you don't have to wait long to make your espressos. Overall this is a great espresso maker, built well and makes a good espresso.

The ILAVIE Espresso Coffee Machines 20 Bar is a sleek, easy to use espresso maker. The footprint is perfect for smaller spaces and it's powerful enough to deliver a good extraction. It heats quickly and has a good sized water well that seats in the unit. The steam wand froths well and is just as simple to use and adjust with the side lever. The machine comes with 2 sizes for one and two cups of espresso and the measuring cup doubles as a tamper. The box comes with everything except a frothing cup but it's ready to use right out of the box (after a good cleaning). So far, I'm pretty impressed with this little machine. It delivers on everything described.

Why spend $5 to near $10 a day at your local coffee place when you can save so much $$$$ doing this at home. I always look for products for the long term to save monies. Looks commercial. I really want to like this espresso machine but it's a bit finicky. When I can get it to work it makes good espresso. I had issues with the back leaking a lot. That made the product less but also the machine wouldn't run sometimes as well. The milk frother worked great every time. It's pretty straightforward to use but I don't want to have to fight it every time to get a shot of espresso.

Ive been iffy about getting one of these.. but when i saw this one i knew it was a sign, really glad i saw it because WOW ! What the heck was i even iffy about in the first place ?!? This works wonders, my husband loves it as well and now expected an espresso right before work.. combines with my kitchen so it fits perfectly. Everything works amazing and overall im in love with it. The value behind it is so worth it !
