Wonderful product! Nicely thought out. We have 1 cat that wants to be outside. This has been a good buy. The mesh screen top zips on very easily. There are several pockets around to put any items you might want; leash, treats, scoop bags.... The air flow is good but it still gets hot for the pet when the air is hot and the breeze is nil, so you have to watch to see they aren't getting overheated. Perfect for keeping ticks and large bugs off the pet. Not sure about mosquitoes. I wondered if I would have trouble refolding the pen to put it away. You know it is kind of like a paper map. But even I was able to get it folded back together without much trouble and but back into the case that comes with to hang up or carry by the handles. Nice weather has taken its sweet time getting here so we have only used it twice. I will be watching for other things to mention and return to tell findings. For now it is everything I'd hoped for. No more putting a harness and tether on cat and having them get tangled in the lawn furniture. The vinyl floor is thick enough that I think it will hold up nicely if needed. I personally don't anticipate using the floor and will stake the pen to the yard at another date. There are no stakes included with the pen but there are tabs around the perimeter of the pen that you can put a stake through into the ground and the pen won't blow away. The second time I used it, I had it upside down but the mesh screen zipped on just as nicely as it did when I had it right side up. I could have purchased a cheaper and smaller one but I wanted the cat to have plenty of room. There is room for 2 average size cats to move about easily. Three average size cats would be a bit crowded in my opinion. I don't often get too excited about products but I would like to shake the hand of the person who thought this out. It is almost perfect. IF it could put itself away, then it would be perfect. :-) I'd recommend this to anyone who wants the convenience of having the pet outside to lay in the sun and shade and get some good earth under their feet instead of being cooped up inside constantly. Update: May 2016 Have used it several times and I discovered that it does come with stakes. I just didn't find them at first. They are not very thick so if the ground is really hard they might bend easily. I really like this playpen and so does the cat. He tolerates it and looks out the mesh openings and settles in quickly and lays down content when he's done looking about. I don't use it every day so I still have to think about how to refold it so it will fit back into the carry case. The elastic band that goes around the playpen when it's folded is nice too because it does help hold it together while you put the case over it for storage. My cat is declawed but he does use his paws on the mesh and if he had claws it might be a problem. I'm not certain about that. I'm not sure about the claws on other pets if they tried to paw at the mesh. The mesh is sturdy but I don't know if a claw might be able to get caught in the mesh and cause an injury to the paw. If the pet has claws you would definitely have to watch them so they wouldn't get caught in the mesh and tear tissue on their paws. I use this for my Ferret. It's great! Allows us to travel easier with our little angel. I hated having to lock her in bathroom when sneaking her in to hotels or leaving her in another room or a crate when visiting friends/relatives. So.... I found this! For one small undersized (she's full grown but only 1/2 size of an average ferret) i bought the 48" (4ft) she has PLENTY of room to run around in, her toys are everywhere in it, she is litter trained and her little litter box fits well, plus her bed (that's covered in many blankets and stuffed animals); a BIG BONUS to this is that i feared her water dish may be an issue but this pin has a place to put a water bottle thing (like the ones a pet store would use) it is great help! With all that she still had room to run about and play some). There are outside picks to store things in when it's being used. It has two doors one on each side with a double zipper. The roof can be Zippered off and on, used or not, it is a see-through mesh and the floor is A solid coated waterproof canvas that can also be zippered off and on easily. I would also like to note that the quality is very good, the zippers seem sturdy and have worked well so far. The mesh and canvas are strong and it is double stiched at every place that is sewe n together. Another really nice aspect of it is that it has places where you can stake it to the ground when outside to really stabilize it and allows you to leave the bottom of it off so your fluffy can enjoy some lush grass and dirt! The supports on it are made from mostly metal and hard plastic. I messed about with it some and it's sturdy enough not to be and issue if, say, a small dog jumped against its sides it wouldn't cause a big mess or what-not. I saw this comes in many different sizes i bought the 48-inch (4-foot) across (I highly recommend this size for any one using it for one to two ferrets). Despite its size, it fits well in many places thanks to the shaping of it and can be reconfigured slightly thanks to the folding. This folds up very nicely/easily (it folds down to be only about 2in wide or less in thickness) and goes into a nice caring case that came with it. It is also *extremely* light weight!!
