I have this same model in my vehicle and has worked great for years. When my wife needed a new one I couldn't find one so I purchased the refurbished one. Once out of the box I noticed it was scratched up pretty good. Once installed the only thing that came across the screen was "power reset" over and over. Decided to test and drove by not just the police station but the state police station too. NEVER alerted once. I drove though 2 known speed traps. NO alert just "power reset" The only thing nice was the newer mounting bracket. I'm sending this junk back. Do not buy!! ... show more

    • Lots of false alarms
Out of nowhere I'll hear...you have reached your marked location... Problem is it's somewhere I've never been so the GPS is obviously off. I only accidentally marked a location and then deleted it now in random places it will just blurt out you have reached your marked location... Not impressed.

Came in a plain brown box. It works, OK. But for $18 more I could have gotten a new one WITH A MANUAL ! ! ! No manual in the plain brown box. 3 week update. After 800 interstate miles, the 9500Ix gives me a TON of false Ka alarms. I also have a ESCORT Ix LONG RANGE detector and don't get ANY false Ka band alarms. Spend a little more and get an ESCORT Ix. ... show more

Volume doesn't work, color won't change, power cord was stretchout and worst of all, it won't update using the escort app or website. JUNK. Buy a new one, not a refurbished one.
