  • For a real acoustic sound with “ring”.
I had an acoustic bass and thought, why are there electric bass strings on most all of the ACOUSTIC basses? So I googled bronze Acous bass strings and Viola!!! There they were. The came, I mean, arrived quickly and I put them on! Boom! They really do sound pretty freakin good. That acoustic “ring” is there now. This should certainly be the standard type of string for acoustic basses. Bronze or phosphor bronze. It should look bronze or copper in color, not silver. They sound great and are holding up well. One small point of quality control, the A string arrived with a discoloration where the sound hole is. Cosmetic only, but worth a mention if their QA dept is listening in. ... show more

  • best acoustic bass strings I have found
Great sound, easy to play... that's what I was looking for. Louder then other string I've tried yet if you want volume that lets you be heard when someone has an acoustic guitar you will still need play with a pick or to be plugged in.

  • Ernie Ball's are my total strings of choice
I have a Takamine TB240SC acoustic bass which i have tried many many strings on. Including some expensive ones but i never could get it to resonate or project they way i thought it should. This included, painstaking break-in and setup. I had just about given up and was ready to sell it when i was ordering strings for my other guitars (which all are equipped with various Ernie Ball's) and saw the Earthwood's. I thought "what the heck" they were inexpensive and always fast shipping through Amazon so i ordered them. Let me tell you!!!! this guitar came alive!! the resonance was there along with the projection, no more muddy sound... bright ,clean, clear beautiful sound coming from the mahogany big body...just as it should have been all along..Thank you Ernie Ball and thank you Amazon... ... show more

  • Great sounding strings!
Great sounding strings as all Ernie Ball strings do as I use the Slinky's and Super Slinky's on my electric basses. I purchased an acoustic bass last year. After a few months, I noticed dead spots on a few notes. That be scary, because that could mount to costs in the form of a luthier doing some neck work on bass. Thankfully, all it took for me was to order these strings, every fret plays and rings true and beautifully. Love the tone and brightness of these strings and the bass plays better than when new with original OEM strings. Very satisfied customer! 😊 ... show more

  • Tinny and bright.
For a “phosphor bronze” string, these strings are incredibly bright and tinny. They’re also smaller than the average acoustic bass string, so be prepared to make some setup adjustments to accommodate these.

  • Very pleased with sound and performance
My first replacement strings for my Oscar Schmidt acoustic bass. Very pleased with sound and performance. I will definitely use these in future replacement

  • Not my style
They are nice strings, don't get me wrong. They just don't fit my style of playing. These strings are extremely bright. They work very well if you are playing strictly acoustically. I personally wouldn't get these strings again, but they are nice for acoustic only playing
