Wanted a new printer that was reasonably priced and included a fax. I wanted an Epson as I had the previous Epson 4100 Series. I chose this one because it not only was a printer but copy,scan and fax. It also allowed me use EFAX which a mobile fax app as I don't have a landlines phone. Set was easy took 20 minutes. Would like Epson to include instructions as opposed to looking them up online. But overall I'm happy with it. Hopefully it's not a ink drinker as my previous Epson. But, I would advise if your buying this to purchase extra ink also. It only except Epson brand and will not work with generic although maybe advertised as compatible ... show more

This printer is AWFUL. For the price you would expect a printer that prints quickly, stays connected wirelessly, does not jam frequently, does not grab multiple sheets of paper when printing, does not waste ink, does not struggle printing multiple jobs at a time, yet this printer does all those things! You can't load 2 different types of paper without the printer having issues scooping extras off the bottom, so if you have regular printer paper in then decide to print some labels or something on cardstock, you have to remove the printer paper before adding the other type of paper. You cannot leave the printer on and have it stay connected to the wireless network, it will drop connection after 8-12 hours, forcing you to turn the printer off then back on. If you print off more than 10 pages at a time, the paper tray will get disorganized causing the rollers to pick up multiple pages, printing on a few at a time at an offset, so not only do you get to reprint that page, you get to throw away a few pages of paper, great for labels and cardstock. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!! I've bought $50 printers that are better than this in every way. I would not recommend this printer to anyone, I will actively tell people to never buy an Epson. I've added a picture showing how much paper was wasted while trying to print FIVE pages of labels. It took me about 45 minutes to get this job done between resetting the printer, refilling the paper, swapping pages, refilling the printer after it took extra pages, etc. AWFUL. ... show more

Tech support is hit or miss, and I have a few new Epsons and had to call tech support on each. Written enclosed manuals seem to be a thing of the past and online manual is missing info. People who design a product should not write the manual, someone who has never used it should. Tech support must get paid by the call because while friendly they are in a hurry. (old pilot joke "you hear how I'm talking, that's how I'm listening"). I am not a computer whiz, that's why I called tech support and I couldn't find how to clear fax memory that why in the heck would it store every sent fax anyway? Why not make that an option to begin with because once the memory is full you can't fax anymore. Copy/print quality is fine but not high res. Fine for small use, but could be improved. ... show more

i like the printer and it does everything i need it to do , which for me is print and scan, i type up and stuff off the internet that i need to print . i like the design of the printer and it doesnt take up much room .the ink is kind of high but i think youll find it less expensive on amazon ,and if your like me its best to buy the higher capacity ink cartridges .and im very impressed with the the print job it does. i think epson is a well respected name in the printing business which made me pick this printer . it was easy to set up , i installed it directlly to my desk top but you can also install it with wifi . a good price for a nice printer. ... show more

I first bought this printer on Feb 6. When it arrived, I could not set it up due to a maintenance box error. I contacted Epson and received a replacement within 2 days. I still got a maintenance Box error, so I contacted Amazon for a replacement printer. The new printer arrived today and the set-up my internet and Chromebook went very smoothly. I have used Epson printers for nearly 20 years and have been very satisfied, so I took a chance on a refurbished to save a few dollars. I was not disappointed. Epson service was excellent and Amazon's hassle-free return policy makes everything very easy. New or refurbished, I will go with Epson every time.
