  • Works as advertised
This small printer works fine after a thorough cleaning of the ink heads. Pictures are beautiful and we still like the concept of the all-in-one printer. Also, it arrived before it was scheduled. Can't beat that.

  • before you think that is going to be a bad review, it has bee a reliable printer for ...
Just had to write a short review as my trusty PitchureMate has gone down for the count. However, before you think that is going to be a bad review, it has bee a reliable printer for thousands upon thousands of prints for years now. I am a professional photographer, and we have used this printer at events from a benefit for the local SPCA, to a Santa day at a local food bank to Christmas parties, and it has performed flawlessly over the years. Rarely needing a head cleaning and producing beautiful quality prints quickly. People are always happy with the results and many times astounded at how quick they are ready and how good they are. The only two issues are the ink and paper are bundled, and the ink never lasts for all the 150 sheets of paper. However, you can get aftermarket ink that works just fine, and they are available at any office supply store locally, so the times I that I have forgotten to get a pick I can just stop in at the local Office Depot and pick one up. Of course, they are cheaper here on Amazon. The second issue: and it has occurred only a couple of times, if you prints lots of copies at a time, and I think the number is about 100, the printer slows way down. Typically it takes less than a minute to get a print, but after that 100, its like 3 minutes, frustrating if you have people waiting, and the only way to fix it is to shut it off and let it wait for something like an hour. For what I use this printer for, it has been great. The best printer I have ever owned. Now, it has begun to print green, and no amount of head cleaning, changing ink cartridges or head alignment will fix it. I am looking for another one. ... show more

  • Handy and quick 4x6 photo printer
I use this printer for doing quick 4x6 proofs or for printing snapshots from my point-and-shoot. I have a higher-end Epson 2880 for more serious work or for larger prints, but the PM260 makes a nice alternative for those times when I just want to run off a few 4x6 prints. I like that it's incredibly handy and you can go from camera to prints in just a few moments. The prints are as good as any you'll find in this size range, and you can't beat the convenience. Changing ink and paper is easy and foolproof, and generally the printer is easy enough to use for anyone - including people who tend to be intimidated by a more full-function printer. Picture quality is very good for a product like this, with well-saturated color, even gloss and no obvious banding, pixelation or other digital artifacts. Cameras as low as 2-3 megapixels produce fine prints. Sure, you can get better results tweaking images on a PC and then printing, but you won't be disappointed if you go straight from memory card to print. Only complaints are that there's no built-in support for Nikon RAW file format (you need a PC for this), and the cost per print runs about $0.35-$0.40 per print. This adds up, especially if you find yourself printing, editing and then printing again. As other reviewers have noted, it's also prone to clogging if you let it sit for too long unused - would be nice if there were a way to completely drain the printer for storage. Other than these issues, highly recommended if you want a simple, easy-to-use 4x6 photo printer. ... show more

  • A great little compact unit.
I had purchased this unit because i was dissatisfied with the prints i was getting from like walgreens and walmart. even though i adjusted my pictures before i had prints made, so many of the prints i got back weren't even close to what i was seeing on my computer. i printed a couple of the same pictures on my all in one printer and they turned out much closer to what i was seeing on my computer. this is why i purchased a photo printer. i have only used it so far with the sample pack that came with it, but the prints were a good quality. it took some wasted prints to learn the editing that could be done, but overall the adjustments are pretty easy now to do. i like the portable use of it, which will let me take the printer when i go to indoor sports shows. i like the idea where i can just use my memory card from the camera and print my own prints quickly. i am anxious to find out how the epson adjustments will work with pictures right from the memory card, when shooting with no flash in sports mode often leaves adjustments to be done to the picture. of course, i can always just wait and put the pics into my computer and adjust them and transfer the finished edited pics to a flash drive, and then use the epson to do my prints. or use the computer with the epson. whichever way, i am quite happy with the sample prints i had done and i believe i will get a lot better prints then from other stores. ... show more

  • Super fast, great looking prints.
I purchased this printer to use in a photo booth that I'm building for my wedding in January. I did a lot of research to find the fastest but still good looking prints. The PM260 delivers! The first print can be in your hands in about a minute and additional prints will be done in about 45 seconds. The quality is astounding. I've used up the initial cartridge and paper in testing my photo booth software and every print looked great. One thing that did surprise me was the size of the printer. It's not massive, just bigger than the picture makes it out to look. Still very portable and easy to put away. It's very portable and the included handle is pretty cool. You can even purchase a battery and do totally portable prints. One feature that I really appreciated was a little strap on the power supply cord that allows you to wrap up the whole thing and hold it together. Like most printers if you want to connect it to your computer you'll need a USB cable. I haven't used the memory card slots or fancy in-printer editing features so I can't speak to those features. ... show more
