I am going through slides and negatives, 35mm and Medium format from my dad's past life starting from the 1960s. So it's A LOT. You will need A LOT of time on your hands and a very understanding family if you need to save all these memories that you have probably never ever seen before. I am using a high end spec Alienware notebook from 2015 to do this. I have gone through the trouble to time how long it takes to scan 35mm slides in different settings. 4 35mm Slides Scan for Positive 4800dpi 48bit Color Correction w/ ICE: 10min 29sec w/ Medium Dust Removal: 5min 44sec w/o Dust Removal: 5min 41sec Those Kodak slides from way back then will have dust in them if not growing on them. The Epson software dust removal is NOTHING. It's pretty much just like w/o dust removal. It's a worthless setting. Grain Reduction is noticeable but not by much. Color Restoration setting is like magic. Those old slides will have tinted to a magenta color by now, so you'll need that. Digital ICE Technology setting, now that makes a HUGE difference. Those dust specs disappear completely. I recommend this setting if you have the time. 60 slide magazine, 4 slides at a time, will take you 157.5minutes if you were a robot. 2hrs, 37.5min a magazine. I purchased an Amazon Recertified one of these and it works great! If you have an understanding family or a lot of spare time, I recommend this. If you don't then just get one of those $150 toys that you just push a slide in and press a button like a conveyor belt. Or pay someone or a company to scan them in for you. ... show more

    • It works for what I need
Since my recently mother died I have been trying to bring sense out of chaos of family documents going back at least 130 years. This is very good and easy to use for slides, photos and postcards. However, it is only okay for documents. I have to put a piece of black cardstock cardboard behind all the back sides of photos with writing on them and do the same for the back side of all postcards if I want to copy them. It would be nice if the panel on the lid had a black side so this was unnecessary, ... show more

Does everything you could ever think of exactly what I was hoping for plus more. Needed to scan old photos and very old slides. Excellent machine easy to set up and easy to use well worth the money. Great company and great customer service! Highly recommend this product with two thumbs up 👍👍

This scanner is great. You can scan multiple pictures at one time. It is quick and efficient. The downfall ... their app. Yes, the app is easy to use. The settings are pretty straight forward. You can figure it out in little time, even if you are not savvy with the computer. HOWEVER ... they need to fix a long known bug ... when you scan the photos in one of the modes, the app closes after the scan. Completely closes. Not minimized, not hidden, just closed. You have to re-run the app to start the next scan. This is annoying and time consuming. Other than this one downfall, I absolutely love the quality of this scanner. It was easy to set up (there is no disk, you download software from the internet). The settings are pretty standard and easy to understand. The installation instructions should get even the least computer literate people rolling within 15 minutes of taking it out of the box. ... show more

    • GREAT scanner if you are scanning a range of things and need excellent reproduction
I LOVE this scanner. I always look for what might be out there that is newer but there is little call for new scanner development. But this one does exactly what I need. it is not something meant to travel, so I keep one at places I may be where I need to scan things. My parents' house, other locations, you name it. I've scanned new and old documents, new photos and old photos, film negatives, you name it. It is a workhorse. At this price point, you can't get a better scanner. ... show more

The seller( Aplus Service (next day shipping available)) was selling defective products, claiming they were in "Very good condition". When I informed them of this, they didn't any support. The item I received had plastic on the machine itself as if it was brand new, but the outer box was damaged as if it had been used for long years. The machine itself stopped working after a few uses.
