  • Scans multiple potos at ones and makes dark pictures look great!
Honestly, I ordered it thinking I would probably just have to return it, but hoping it would work. It's FANTASTIC! Easy and convenient to scan my many bins full of family photos over the years while watching a show. doesn't need a power source, just your laptop. I can put multiple pictures on the scanner and it will scan each one into an individual file. Quite a few original of my pictures were very old and dim from age or just lousy picture taking abilities. This scanner actually lightened those pictures while still making them look natural and great, so much so that I'll be able to use them in the digital photo books I'm making! Very please. Won't return and when it wears out eventually like all electronic do in time, I'll order another one. ... show more

  • Artists Use Caution
While this scanner is GREAT at delivering quality line-art scans, it's definitely lacking when it comes to colored images. I've attached photos of a quick drawing I did for the purpose of showing what I mean. I like the brightness and clarity the scanner brings, but I have that it decreases the saturation and contrast of the image. The actual machine itself works nicely, it's quick, it has many different settings for documents, photographs, line-art and colored illustrations, etc. It does make a horrendous noise while it's scanning, but other reviews have pointed out the same thing and from what I can tell, it's no issue. The USB connection also makes this scanner portable and easy to use and install. Now, yes, I realize this scanner was not made explicitly for art, but I was expecting a little better, since photographs have the same amount of color. I have not scanned a photo myself yet, but the quality of my art scans makes a little unsure of how it will come out when I do. Pros: Speed of scanning Ease of use Price Clarity of scanned images USB connection Compatible with Windows 10 Cons: Noise Color-loss and contrast-loss of images No way to turn it off without disconnecting it Overall, it's a nice little scanner, especially for the price, with some scanner going for upwards of two hundred dollars. If you're looking to get into art professionally, I would spend a little more to get something of a higher caliber, but if you're just planning on using this for a hobby, or to scan documents, etc, this scanner should suit you fine. ... show more

  • Easy to use and very versatile
I pulled this from the box and setup was very easy. It loads the driver and interface and grabs power off USB so no extra large power pack needed. Not as heavy duty as my old flatbed, but then again I am not sure anything is these days. I would still be using it except the drivers will not go past Windows XP. What I like about this is...I can set 4-5 pictures on the bed and it scans them as separates! Just make sure you have a small gap in between them. So after scanning about 500 pics the 1st day, I was impressed. No bad noises. Quiet, and has several scan methods and graphics settings. The ONLY dislike I have is that the scan interface disappears after each scan so you have to select the icon again for each set of scans. I have not yet found a workaround for that in the menu system. I 'could' have dropped a star for that but its a minor detail. Does not affect the quality and function of the scanner. For what I paid, it already paid for itself in a day. Plus it is very light so unplugging the USB and storing it is easy. I recommend this. long term reliability I cannot speak of. I have had it for a few months and it's fine. ... show more

  • A beacon of "keep it simple" quality
I'm an artist and needed a flatbed scanner to upload my work. I was NOT looking for anything "smart" with a ton of bells and whistles, just a dumb workhorse machine that scans my art quickly and produces a good quality image for me to work with. And that's exactly what I got! It's incredibly easy to set up; you pull it out of the box, go to the simple website address given in the instructions to download and install the device drivers, then connect the scanner to your computer! Boom! Done. You're ready to start scanning. This machine is so simple that it doesn't even have a power cord, the scanner gets power via the USB connection to your laptop or computer. It got a good sized scanning surface that fits your typical 8.5"x11" (A4 size) paper with a centimeter or so of wiggle room. The images it produces are good quality and the program that comes with the drivers has a couple different options that lets you choose how much control you want over your scans, ranging from "Full Auto Mode" which lets you scan with a single click while the machine does all the work, to "Professional" which gives you control over everything from final image size to dpi. Even my mom, who has trouble finding her phone's contacts list, can use this machine without needing any help! If you need a simple scanner that doesn't try to outsmart you and just does its job without complaint, this scanner is a great option, especially for how cheap it is! ... show more

  • Great Little Photo Scanner
I bought this scanner because the scanner on my color laser all-in-one became a lot more trouble than it was worth. Setting up the Epson was a dream: download and install the drivers, plug the scanner into a USB port and you're off to the races. During one scanning session I placed three photos on the scanner. I fully expected to get a single 8½ x 11 image that I would then cut out each individual image. No big deal, but I was really surprised that the scanner recognized the three individual photos and scanned accordingly. Maybe all scanners do this and I just haven't used a good quality scanner in quite some time. I have not used this scanner for any text scanning or scanning to PDF, so I cannot comment on these. But if you are looking for an inexpensive, east to use and high quality scanner, you owe it to yourself to check out this Epson unit. ... show more
