  • If you save up for an eotech, you will be happier in the long run as opposed to getting those "cheaper sights"
I hate dropping 400$+ on a sight..but you will get what you pay for with Eotech. Honestly in my opinion i should have just gotten the one dot reticle instead of two, but the image is sharp enough that it doesnt clutter up the target down range. Its built solid and does everything it says it will do. While the range i used was limited at the time to 50 yds, the grouping was holes inside holes. Excellent and precise. Didnt even have to do too much to zero the sucker.. I used to have a 512 eotech, and I remember the field of view to be bigger.. but not a problem really. A friend of mine used a "less expensive" sight and clearly my grouping was spot on, while his was not because less expensive red dot sights dont have the clear, 1-moa dot or reticle. Going the extra mile to fork out the cash will get you better results and quality that you can see and feel. ... show more

  • Meets all expectations
What can you really say, it's Eotech. It performs excellent, does exactly what it sets out to do. I've had mine for a little over a year now, and have absolutely 0 complaints. When it came in I installed it, flipped up my irons, sighted it to them, went to the range and only had to make a click or 2 adjustment. I put a 5x magnifier behind it to feel comfortable out to a couple hundred yards. This is the perfect setup (to me) for anything close I flip the magnifier aside, 75yds+ I flip the magnifier up and go to work. My only recommendation, truly weigh out your thoughts on night vision. I got this one believing I would never care to have night vision, and now find myself looking at NV scopes, or accessories. If you know you will never want or need it, this is the one for you. If you MAY EVER want night vision, go ahead and go one more step up and get the night vision compatible one (not that I'll mind having this one on my AR and buying another NV compatible one for my RFB). ... show more

  • best optic ive used
ive tried several different red dot and holographic sights on my AR-15 and nothing has been as outstandingly easy to mount and offer such quick and extremely accurate target acquisition as this. this also offers the best two eyes open firing ive seen yet. the adjustable brightness on this makes it easy on the eyes too, you can shoot in any light and still be able to see your reticle and not blind yourself too. it also goes great with my magpul MBUS sights which need no adjustment in order to be used at the same time as the MBUS. ... show more

  • I love this thing
The Eotech "holosight" reticle is by far my favorite. Red dots are fine, but the speed and precision (true 1 MOA dot) you get with these is unparalleled. And the fact that the dot is still 1 MOA when using a 3X magnifier turns this thing into a precision variable power optic at will. I've had a 512 for many years, and it used to be my favorite optic. Now it's this one. I love the second dot, though it's a little too long range to be of much use (600 yards, I believe). Still, it's nice to have it and have that option. I also like their new logo. Looks sharp. There are many less expensive options out there, some with advanced features (shake to wake, for example). But they aren't THAT much less expensive, and none of them come close to the low level of parallax of these holographic laser reticles. I have an Aimpoint T1 micro and I can't get anywhere near the precision of this thing at close range (25 yards) because of parallax. I wear glasses and so even if my form is totally consistent, slight variations in the position of my glasses cause me to move my face slightly to compensate, which induces parallax. The T1 (and all other LED based reticles) can be off by quite a few MOA at 25 yards with even small movements. This thing...while it has SOME parallax, in the real world it is not detectable. The end result is one hole shots at 25 yards regardless of consistency of sight picture. The T1 is the more expensive sight and I am quite fond of it, but my Eotechs are mounted on my favorite firearms. ... show more

  • Great for astigmatism
I like this and shot better than I did with my Leopold 3-9. I also have a 3x behind it. Easy to use and great visibility.

  • Piece of cake
This little scope is amazing. I put it on my farm truck gun, a small over and under 22 WMR/410. With no magnification the scope might be useful with a man-sized target at long distances like the reviews state, but for farm nuisance work where I need a 1" group at under 50 yards it's perfect. Shooting with both eyes open is a trip, as use used to say. Seeing the big picture yet placing a shot is something most shooters will need some time to sink in. We're so accustomed to total focus while placing the shot. One other point is that the two dot option didn't turn out to be useful with the short ranges I am dealing this. IMPORTANT: The two dots are 10.6 MOA apart. This is in none of the literature. I called to factory to learn this. Knowing the MOA you can now calculate what you can do with the second dot. I did the math but got this model with the second dot anyway. Why pass up a feature that might one day be useful, maybe on another gun. ... show more

  • Great Sight if You Want Quality
My 1st experience with an EOTech site was a combat tour to Iraq in 2005. Loved how it offered quick target acquisition for close quarter combat. Virtually all firefights are close quarter combat in Iraq. So I also use an EOTech for my rifle here at home since it is extremely rare that I fire it over 100 yards. ... show more

  • Great product... Just overpriced
The thing cost me like 560 dollars. EOTech created a truly awesome product with this holographic optic, but it's simply too expensive for what you get out of it. I had it only for a week or two before I decided it just wasn't worth it. So I returned this optic in favor of a low power variable optic. If you have 600 dollars to spare and you want a unique product, go for it. But EOTech sort of has a monopoly on this specific technology in the optics world so it's way too expensive for what it is. ... show more
