I had liposuction on my stomach/abdomen area, my flanks (sides) and my bra fat area. I used these in only the front area and I must say that they did take some of the pain away that the surgery itself plus the compression garment caused, made it more tolerable with the foam against my skin as opposed to the garment being against it. I didn't wear the foam the whole time during recovery, only sometimes because as the garment was holding the foam in place, along the edges where the foam stops I could see the indentations in my skin and I was told if I allow uneven areas to form thats how those areas would heal and I wanted a smooth appearance obviously so I minimized my wear. I didn't notice a strong odor as some other reviewers have commented on.
