  • Fantistic Knives and Incredible Customer Service
Color: Dark Ash Knife Block
I did a bunch of research where chefs and other trustworthy folks indicated Enso to be the best value among high-end Japanese knives. According to them, other Japanese brands are better known, and more expensive, but not any better quality. After using these to put together Thanksgiving this year I believe the comments and reviews I've seen. These are incredibly sharp, beautiful, and should hold and edge longer than anything else on the market, except maybe sg2 knives (a newer super-steel which Enso also makes knives from but are around 50% more expensive). I'll update this review in a year or so after I've had more time to see how the edge retention is. I love the way these feel in my hand with their design, weight and balance. The ergonomics feel even better than with my high-end German knives. Enso also has amazing customer service! My pairing knife arrived with a very small kick. - I'd have let that go except the set was so incredible otherwise that I didn't want that small imperfection to bother me. They resolved my issue by trading my kicked knife for an un-damaged one super quickly and professionally with no additional cost (shipping etc.), and as little hassle as possible on my part. Tawnee was particularly helpful in resolving my concern. I really love this set, and look forward to cherishing these knives for years to come! ... show more

  • Balanced
Color: Gray Ash Knife Block
This knife set is great. You can feel the quality when you pick one up. Have only had the set for a month so I cannot speak to edge retention. I would recommend.

  • BEAUTIFUL AND SHARP KNIFE SET
Color: Acacia Knife Block
This is our 1st chef knife set, we chose Japanese knives because we've had a one passed on from my mother -in-law she bought in Japan some 40 years ago. It had been used daily and was always our favorite, so it was time to upgrade to a set. This Enso set is a a pure pleasure to use everyday, makes prepping food fun and promotes us to cook at home more often...highly recommended! ... show more

  • Not worth the price tag.
Color: Gray Ash Knife Block
Like other reviewer said these knives rust even when cared for according to manufacturer direction. I also experienced chips on the edge of the blade and i'm not using these knives for anything other than typical family cooking purposes. I feel like i could have gotten similar quality knives cheaper at walmart. I regret buying these as now I have to buy new knives. They weren't even good for a 18 months. ... show more

  • Extremely sharp!
Color: Acacia Knife Block
Ergonomic and razor sharp! These are the sharpest knives I’ve ever owned or used. By far! I’ve owned and used them for just over a month now and the edges have held up beautifully. I literally look forward to preparing meals because it means that I get to use my Ensos.

Color: Dark Ash Knife Block
The knives are beautiful. I chose these specifically for their signature; the Japanese kanji / characters that add to the character Balance is amazing Sharpness is better than my dovo straight razors Like cast iron pans, these are forever knives if taken care of. • Magnificent
Color: Dark Ash Knife Block
Magnificently beautiful, insanely sharp. Outstanding product. Do not use any rough surfaces to clean these-- a friend used the green side of the Scotch Brite sponge and it put tiny marks in the finish :-(
