My Dad had purchased on of these about a year or so ago. I guess I never paid attention that it was solar. After realizing it, it easily solved my issue of installing a motion light in an area where I had no power. Installation was straight forward and simple. Set up was easy and works perfectly and is nice and bright. It is installed on a shed building and the overhangs are small, about 4 inches or so. Having other lights that claimed they were outdoor, made for outdoor lighting and failed within months because they got wet, imagine that, I made a small flashing to help keep some of the water runoff from the roof from constantly soaking the light. I will re-review if there are issues.

These are the best motion lights I could find they offer a good price for features and have been very dependable were easy to install and the cord length was very helpful for placement options . They are water resistant have withstood multiple thunder storms and snows some of them mounted in wide open unprotected places others under eves . They produce a nice bright light which is of benefit if you have security cameras and to allow you a good vision of what's out there

Followed instructions and charged the solar panel a full day before plugging into the light that is mounted on the side of our house in direct sunlight. It worked well at night when we walked in range of the sensor that is switched on the "automatic" setting. I counted to 10 when the lights came on and they stayed on a little less than 10 seconds. The next morning I walked by the sensor exactly where I walked by it the night before and to my surprise the lights turned on when it was sunny. I walked by several times and the lights turned on every time with direct sunlight on the entire light including the sensor. We adjusted the sensor in various directs day after day, trying to find an angle that would not activate the lights during the day. Every day since we installed it this issue has been a problem that we could never fix buy adjusting the position of the sensor. Tonight, Jan 18, 7:30 p.m. the light did not turn on at all when our dog walked out the door, the light has been turning on at night whenever the dog goes out the door but tonight it failed. Since it did not turn on for the dog, I went outside and walked back and forth in front of the light and it did not turn on as I passed by it. We received this light in November 2024 and less than two months later, January 2025, this solar light died. I'm guessing that it died because the sensor is turning on the lights throughout the day and probably draining the battery. I live in So Calif where we have sunlight every day so the solar panel is fully charged daily. Will be requesting a refund...but to return it we have to go back on the roof to detach the solar panel and patch up the holes the siding on the house where we will be removing the fixture. We read some good reviews and bought it when the price was marked down before the holidays. It was a bargain but it turned out to be defective within 2 months so it's now worthless and an inconvenience to dismantle and return it within 30 days.
