Description

Energizer Vision HD + LED Headlamp offers a hands-free, bright LED light with a long runtime for extended use. This headlamp flashlight is ideal for indoor or outdoor activities that require two hands. With 26 lumens on high, this light is 4x brighter than the standard LED technology with a beam distance of up to 8 meters. Advanced dimming controls let you adjust the intensity of this headlamp LED light from 1% to 1%. Three modes - high, spot and wide - are available with a red LED for night vision. Next Push Off minimizes switch cycles. This light needs 6 AAA batteries (included) to use.

The media could not be loaded. A good, basic headlamp that is easy to open, has an adjustable strap and a tilt capability. The tilt adjustment is coarse, about 22 degrees per detent, so only the first two settings are of use when walking or running, and third position for close work. I don’t know what the 90 degree and 112 degree settings would be useful for, unless you want to tell ghost stories around the campfire! The lamp does not have a regulated output, so brightness will diminish as the batteries discharge, but I would not expect regulation in such an inexpensive lamp. Not rated for rechargeable batteries and won’t function with NiMH; but I didn’t expect that either. The two pack came with 6 AAA batteries that were past the use-by date, but for the price of the batteries were “free”. If you use a headlamp every day, consider getting a lamp that can run on rechargeable batteries and has regulated output. I have such a lamp that cost 4 times as much as this 2-pack, and worth it to me. For an emergency kit in your car or go bag, these lamps are perfect adequate and a good value; and having two hands free when the unexpected happens after dark is priceless. UPDATED 2024-10-31 In my initial review I said the light is not regulated, but I was wrong. Although the product makes no direct claim for regulated output, the ability to dim the light implies regulation is being used. Consequently, rather than fading over time I expect the light output will remain constant until the batteries get below the threshold where they can sustain the current required to run at full brightness. When you turn on the headlamp the first mode you get is red light, which is what you want if you are trying to preserve your night vision. The red light is not dimmable. After red are the three white light modes, each of which come on at full brightness and can then be dimmed. Below are operating instructions I found on the Energizer website. Energizer VISION HD+ Headlight OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: • Press 1 time for Night Vision (red). Dimming not available. • Press 2 times for Spot & Flood on high. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. Release to set light level. • Press 3 times for Spot only. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. Release to set light level. • Press 4 times for Flood only. Hold down to adjust brightness. Light will flash at highest and lowest settings. These things are surprisingly bright for how small and lightweight they are. They have a few different color modes and different brightnesses for the white light which are all very useful. The lamp itself has a few different angles it can click to depending where you want the light to be pointing and it locks into that angle pretty good. Really like these for multiple uses, good beam and wide options and bright is really bright. Wish they had better battery life, would have given 5 stars. They are comfortable, not too heavy and the tilt feature works well. Easy to turn on, off and change type of light.     • AN EXCELENT INEXSPENSIVE HEADLAMP

Due to a short electrical failure in our neighborhood I found how unprepared I was in a power outage. In total darkness I had a flashlight by the bed and I could navigate around the house to find out what had gone wrong and wait for the power to return. Living in a rural area, when the power is out BLACK is BLACK! Once I got to the garage I located my headlamp. Once I placed the headlamp (not this one) on, I was amazed at the amount of light everywhere I looked. With a headlamp it is almost the same as having the ceiling light on, at that point I made a mental note, buy more headlamps. The energizer headlamp is perfect for the situation above, inexpensive , small, light weight, uncomplicated, and a very bright light with adjustable intensities. It is perfect for in the house emergencies and in my opinion not for outside work, tactical situations or night hikes. It will survive a drop on the floor from the waist but I doubt a drop from head height unless it is on carpet. I now have a headlamp mounted on hooks at each side of the bed headboard in the master bedroom, by each pedestrian door into my garage and various other critical points around the house. Two for a great price! I would buy again. I love the different settings this offers! The strap is very comfortable and adjustable and has never fallen or gave me issues during a run. Light is very bright.
