I purchased it as an additional tool to install a wall base for a 55 inches tv. First I checked the wall with a stud finder for wood studs, metal pipes, and unshielded electrical wires. Second I marked an area safe to drill a small hole and introduced the camera to check the inside of the wall. The item works as expected and provided a basic view of what I was facing for the tv wall base installation. For the money I spent (on sale) it give me peace of mind, help me not messing up my wall by drilling many holes in error, help me avoiding internal damage to pipelines or electrical connections, and help me saving time guessing. I am an ordinary 63 years old handyman who learned many skills from my father and by using common sense. The item is a cheap tool that in the proper hands will be valuable in doing basic house projects. I like that it was super easy to get started. Step 1. Install app using the QR code in the tiny instruction manual. 2. Plug in the camera. Beyond that I didn't really read the instructions as the whole thing was super easy. Take pix by pressing the button, adjust the light by spinning the wheel. It about 12 feet long and came wrapped up in a small circle, so it took some time to get it straight enough to get where I wanted to get to for my inspections, but once that was don, all was well. It comes with some extra goodies (a magnet you can attach to the end to pick up FER stuff, a small hook (1/4 inch or so) to "grab" things like wires, etc., and a side view mirror so you can see 90 degrees and rotate the wire to see the inside of a pipe for example. So overall I love it. Would like to see a version in the future that has a built in angle control for the camera end, but for this price this item was perfect. Thanks! ... show more

The setup process for the camera was a breeze. It only took me a couple minutes and I was ready to use it to explore hard to reach places. The app that is for the endoscope is user-friendly and intuitive. The main feature that stands out to me is the LED lighting. It made it so that I had good visibility regardless of how dark the area I was inspecting. This feature made a huge difference. The flexible cable is another positive for this product. It is long enough to reach all of the spots I needed it for. It also is good at retaining its stability and shape. I did not have to worry about it getting tangled or bending out of shape. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the quality and the performance of this endoscope camera. It's a very versatile tool that has already saved me time and frustration. I've never reviewed a product before but I had to on this one. My wife's very expensive diamond engagement ring was lost in the car. We were both going crazy thinking about it because we just could not find it under the seats etc. I found this endoscope and read great stuff about it. I figured a $30 or so investment in something I could use to possibly find the ring (without spending who knows how much for a mechanic) was worth it. It was absolutely worth it. It set up easily with my iphone. It was easy to use, I found the ring beneath the driver's seat carpet behind an airflow thingy that you would never have been able to see or feel. When you own a very expensive archtop guitar (hollow body) but you need to make some mods to your precious instrument, you must know exactly where the bracing and supports are before you start drilling. To discourage hardware hackers, there is usually no manufacturer documentation about the interior of the guitar body. The only safe approach is to look inside. Easier said than done. Having tried unsuccessfully using various mirrors with and without integrated illumination, this product is EXACTLY what I needed. It has a very bright, adjustable, light source (critical for me) distributed around the camera and integrates beautifully with my iPhone. I bought this to see inside of a wall where I was planning on hanging some shelves. My stud finder detected wires in the wall but I wanted to really make sure. This is a great tool just to have in your stash, you never know when you might need to see something in a hard to see area. Simply download the app and plug in the camera to your phone. I bought this to test it on our bathroom exhaust vent and also had a broken spring on the door of our dishwasher, and could not pull the dishwasher out because of the way the wood floors were installed after the dishwasher was installed. The camera was a perfect instrument to use for us to be able to creatively reinstall the spring and the broken piece on the dishwasher. We could not have done it without this camera and it gave great pictures and great lighting. Highly recommended. Only wish we had videoed the action. ... show more

    • Good value, but not for all applications
Pros: Easy setup with basic, but functional, iPhone app. Camera works well, takes clear photos. Zoom (1.5x, 2x) is a nice feature Price is very good for what you're getting. Cons: LED light could be broadcast a slightly wider angle. It's possible that it was narrowly focused because I had the lens protector installed on the wand, but for my applications, I'm not sure I would want to use it without one. The stiffness of the cable makes this endoscope difficult to use in some applications, including inside pipes less than 4 inches. I purchased it to view inside a drain pipe running from a bathroom sink but the prove would not make the second 90-degree turn inside a 2" PVC pipe. I did not want to force it too hard for fear of damage, but no amount of maneuvering would get it to make the turn. It did work well for snaking into the wall to look at the outside of the pipe, so that was good at least. Overall, I'm not dissatisfied with my purchase. I'm sure I will find tons of uses in the garage or house to use this inexpensive tool. It just didn't work for what I purchased it for. ... show more
