It took a while, but customer service was able to help and identify possible gas leak. We checked and re-tighten one of the fitting as suggested by customer service and the oder/leak was gone and all ok now. Overall, love the unit how it looks and works, happy everything worked out and we have a beautiful stove! Bought and installed by home renovator (abroad). The stove works fine, but there is a faint smell of gas leak. Can you tell me, when the unit is received, it is set up for NG (natural gas) right? We use NG here in Taiwan where the unit is installed. If yes, do I still need to install the regulator? If yes, is the regulator set up for NG or LPG? in you installation manual it shows on Fig14 NG - LPG, but nothing like this is found on the regulator. As well, is there any nozzle I need to change? I believe the nozzle on the unit now is good as flame look nice and blue like it should. Please advise what I should look out for to solve this? I have wrote many emails to customers service, initially they replied immediately and ask for proof of purchase, once I gave that, then there is silence for about 2 weeks without any reply? Please help!!!

We needed a new stove top and boy are they expensive, and we even live close to Whirlpool discount stores- but everything was $500+ and nothing as nice as this one. I was not sure after reading some of the reviews, but my husband is a builder and said he could make it work and he did. I am so happy with my new stove top and that it is tempered glass instead of stainless steel like my older one. It is much easier to clean, there is no area for food to fall through and accumulate and the burner configuration is perfect for my canning needs.

This product is no good. All the burner knobs are flimsy plastic that got hot and was broken within 3 weeks. I cannot use the Stove and I am getting a run around to get the replacement part. Amazon has a number on their site and when you call it’s a Chinese sounding man saying wrong number do not call again even before you can speak. If you spend your money to buy this piece of junk you will be stuck with it because there is no one to accept responsibility for replacing parts etc

This replaces our 12-year-old Maytag gas cooktop. Its hard to find an attractive, black, glass cooktop for under $1000 these days, and then one that can drop into an existing hole or works with propane. And, this unit has 5 burners whereas our old one only had 4, including a monster burner for boiling water quickly. The unit appears to be pretty well-designed but only time will tell how well it will hold up. The instruction manual needs some help and this is why I didn't give it a 5-star rating. There is a bag of mounting clamps but no instructions about how to use them. They are designed to grab on to the bottom of the counter to keep the cooktop from moving around. Much like a sink. There are a number of holes on the bottom of the unit, but no clear indication where the clamps should go. There are more holes than clamps. Secondly, these holes are not threaded. The kit includes self-tapping screws. I HIGHLY recommend lying the cooktop upside down on top of the styrofoam insert that came in the box (to protect the burners). Run the screws through ALL outer holes that can take them PRIOR to mounting the unit. Trying to thread these holes while the cooktop is on the counter will be difficult. Once the counter is mounted you can choose which holes work best for your install. You might not need all four clamps. The appliance includes a gas regulator. If you elect not to use a regulator, then there are various other nozzles and fittings included to adapt to either natural gas or propane assuming your pressure is OK and stable. Use of a regulator is always a good idea. If you use the regulator then there is only one easy adjustment needed for NG or LP and the rest of the parts are not needed.

The conversion from NG to LPG was easy. Works first time every time. Living in Florida we cook outside by the pool most days. Was using a two burner but when the family comes over for sunday brunch 5 burners make it easier and faster. Well built piece of equipment

I did find that if I want to turn the burner down to a low flame, I had to turn the control knob as though turning it to the off position watching the flame until reaching the desired heat range. So there is a work around for the problem but you shouldn't have to do that. The gas control valves need to give more control for lower cooking temp. All burners have the same issue as described. One year later... Just a follow up after using the cook top for about a year. I'm not sorry I bought it. Once I realized I could adjust the flame using the aforementioned method, It is not a big deal. It is a good value for the price. It sure beats cooking with an electric cooktop. Tried to order parts and received no reply. Empava!!! If you read this, please make it possible to buy parts for this product. I would like to have a complete set of control knobs while they are available. Thanks...
