Great price for a good product. Let’s be honest, the scissors provided really are terrible. With that said, the knives are great! Sharp, well made and balanced. These knives are slightly slimmer than a typical knife, which allows the blade to be a little lighter and stay sharper for longer (less fatigue on the hand). Even though they say you can wash these in the dishwasher (top shelf;) I’ve ruined plenty of knife stock doing so. Instead, rinse under hot water (use liquid dish soap if needed) rinse, dry and place back into knife block. The block is Acacia Wood which smells a little like pine mixed with cat urine if it gets too wet for too long. So you’ll want to keep this in a dry area of your kitchen counter and always keep your blades clean and dry when stored. I purchased another set of kitchen scissors to replace the ones provided. Even though I’ve knocked the Acacia Wood block and the scissors, this still is an excellent buy at a fantastic price. Keep your block dry and it will never smell. Replace your scissors and you’ll have a complete knife set ready for any kitchen detail you never expected.

Good knives worth the price

I bought these about a year ago for my short term rental and they have really held up. I know people are putting them in the dishwasher even though they aren't supposed to, but the blades and handles still look great. They are also still very sharp. The only things I did to modify this great set was to spray paint the block black as the wood finish didn't go with my decor. The other thing I did was to change out the steak knives. In contrast to the big knives, the serrated steak knives were cheap feeling and too weirdly serrated for my taste. I purchased a different set of steak knives that was higher quality and I really feel that this has made a very functional full set of knives any visiting chef could work with. I guess I should also add that my biggest pet peeve at any rental has been the totally crappy knives they seem to have, so I wanted to avoid that unpleasant experience my guests. I would definitely recommend these to anyone.

They come very sharp, I washed them in the dishwasher before putting them in the knife block. The chef knife is fantastic to cut vegetables with. The carving knife made quick worth of the Thanksgiving turkey. The pearing knife works great. The steak knives very sharp be careful with em. So far so good. When i wash then I immediately dry them. I don't want to test the anti rust Properties. I'm that way with any knife I value though. And the black shade doesn't chip or fade so far. Pleased with my purchase. If that changes I'll update my review

Update 4 months: Daily use and the knives are holding up well. Have not needed to sharpen. No rust or discoloration either. We hand wash although we have left them to dry on occasion. Highly recommend. We have had this knife set for a little over a month, and use the knives daily. They arrived sharp out of the box. They have stayed sharp for the month of use. We hand wash and then dry the knives after each use. So far, so good there has been no staining of the blades for us. The wood block is solid and holds all of the knives well. We are pleased. The handles are plastic and feel a bit cheap when compared to other plastic handled knives (I think the gloss plastic is the issue, a more matte finish would have been better). This aesthetic does not affect the performance, which is very good. Overall this is an excellent value and is certainly in the upper end of the sub-$200 set price range. We recommend this knife set. I will update this review if anything changes.

This knife game is amazing, the best of the best. While it is true that its price is a bit high compared to conventional models but its quality is superior, this set makes the difference in quality durability, design and especially in how well they can be handled makes you a profitional, from the smallest piece to the largest come with an incredible finish. It's something we should have in our kitchen.
