I was looking for a product that would stop my dog from chewing the tray of her crate (she does this at night when she doesn’t want to sleep, which is why she’s in the crate: she will not sleep outside the crate). She was indifferent at first, the bitter ginger-y smell didn’t seem to attract or deter her so I tried putting a small amount on my finger and putting that in her mouth to gauge her reaction in case she liked it for some reason. She kind of just started at me and made a face while licking her lips. Wasn’t sure what that meant so I tried it on a small corner to see what happened. I don’t think the tray was more damaged, but she had definitely licked up all the spray as she threw it up the next morning (there was the distinct bitter ginger smell of the spray itself coming from her vomit). I personally will not use this product again as my dog proceeded to vomit for the next 2-3 days with the same smell, although it gradually lessened, meaning the spray was still in her system. Since then, her crate has been washed and sprayed down so there are no remnants of this no chew spray. Again, I can only speak for my dog and she likes to eat strange things like grass and dead leaves (which also make her vomit) so it could just be her tastebuds on that. My concern is her vomiting after, because she just kept vomiting until it was just stomach bile.

Our dog chew’s his paw and it’s never gets better . We have tried everything on the market to get him to stop. We bandage it everyday and sprayed the bandage with this spray. I thought after the first day of him not chewing the bandage off, it might work. I applied more spray a card times a day, but the second day he chewed the bandage off and licked the sore area raw.

This stuff works!! I'm seeing a lot of reviews saying this stuff doesn't work but that's not the case for my pup! I have a 11 week old German Shepherd puppy who loves to chew on EVERYTHING!!! Of course shoes are his personal delicacy but he also loves rugs, furniture, cords & anything else he can get his paws on. He has a fun new game where he grabs an item he know he shouldn't have and then runs as fast as he can around the house. Other past times include chewing on furniture while staring at me. I bought this stuff to help keep me from going insane. It is extremely potent! I sprayed it on shoes and then put them on the floor so he could test it out. He picked up the shoe and immediately dropped it 😈 so far it seems to keep him off of all the usual temptations. The only downfall to this product is that it is extremely potent. It lingers in the air and you can taste it in your mouth when you breath.. it doesnt have the worst smell but it certainly isn't something I would use as an air freshener. The biggest con to this product is tasting it in the air after immediate use. The flipside of this is that I think its strong enough to where he can smell it on the items I've sprayed it on so he doesn't even try to chew them. Luckily this is just a training aid and not something you will need to use forever. To have a product gross enough to deter a puppy I suspect it will need to be as strong as this stuff. I'll take the gross after taste effect over a lifetime of ripped up shoes and furniture any day. My suggestion would be to thoroughly spray your shoes outside and let it sit for 10 minutes before bringing them back in. For furniture maybe try leaving a window open and use a face mask while spraying lol.

Sadie is still licking away. Threatening her with a bath works more effectively. Maybe I have a wierdo dog that just likes the flavor. Their customer service is beyond wonderful. They contacted me after this review! Reaching it to me shows they are a company that cares. which brings me back to my dog being the exception.

I got this spray for my chihuahua terrier puppy and at first, it sort of helped discourage him from nipping my heels and going into full land shark mode, but as the weeks kept going on, he just kept doing it and doing it and the spray itself I'd have to often keep reapplying again and again to those areas, as well as the leash which he kept chewing on. I switched to different brand from Rocco & Roxie and wow, what a difference it's already made. Sprayed that one on his 6 foot leather leash to test it out, and at first he still wanted to put the leash into his mouth but quickly got it right out and didn't like that taste at all. I even tasted that one for myself and it's super bitter and gross the way I wanted this spray to be. So yeah, this spray might be effective for some dogs that might not like a more lemony flavor, but I think my dog actually didnt mind this particular spray much. Find other alternatives if this one doesn't work for you.
