I purchased this for my girlfriend, who was looking for a new office chair that was comfortable and stylish. I wasn't sure what to expect given the hype about this chair, so I was pleasantly surprised! Assembly is fast and easy and the final product is comfortable and sturdy. I like to sit in a variety of positions (none of which involve both feet on the ground) and this chair is wide enough to accommodate that . The backrest is at a good angle and has sufficient give to not feel constraining. I opted for the version with the boucle fabric and it's nice and soft but strong enough to withhold cats pawing at it. The price is a little daunting, but I feel that the product is well worth the cost. I am a size 14 and this chair could almost hold 2 of me (sitting in a traditional stance with both feet on the floor).

I'm a life-long fidgety cross-legged sitter and am delighted by the popularity wave of cross-legged chairs. This one is lovely, and initially relatively comfortable, but as I'm coming on the 1-year anniversary of said chair I find myself searching for a cushion for it. That's actually how I realized it had been a year...I looked at my old orders to get the seat width. I use this as my office chair, and maybe for someone who doesn't spend eight hours a day in it, the original cushion would probably hold up longer. (Heck, if you're 20-years younger you might not notice it either...but this old lady does ;) ) Finding a cushion for it is take a bit of work too, as most gel and memory foam cushions are made for people who sit normally in regular sized office chairs. But I'm hopeful! Actually just started looking a wheelchair cushions and I think I might have a solution to try. However I would buy the chair again as I doubt any of the other varieties have any better or long-lasting cushions, and this one best met all my criteria...seat width, wheels, back height, and looks great in my office.

I wanted a chair reasonably priced chair that didn't have rollers, didn't have arms, was able to raise up sufficiently and it didn't look like an 'office' chair. This checked all the boxes. I have my desk in a family room so didn't want that high-back mesh look found in most office chairs. I wanted more of a family room/living room look. I was really hesitant to buy furniture online and am pleased this worked out so well. I love the look and it seems well made. I've only had it two weeks but like it so far, time will tell how well the fabric will hold up but I'm conscientious so optimistic it will be fine. Very reasonable price. Like others have said, this is much easier to set up with two people. I probably could have struggled thru if needed but glad I had the help. Lastly, I'm short and am happy with the max height of this chair. My feet hang a little but sitting higher is the more important thing for my ergonomics. I can either cross my legs on the chair, which is a nice option, or get a foot stool. Otherwise it may not be the be the best back support but it's fine for me since I don't sit back too much and it's a trade off for the look I wanted. The seat is cushy and comfy. I highly recommend if you're looking for similar features.

My chair broke after 8 months. The lift mechanism broke and the chair basically threw me forward to the floor. I was recovering from knee replacement surgery, but managed to fall on my behind. I contacted EMIAH'S Customer Service department. They were polite. But heed my warning: if your chair breaks you had better be prepared with the skill, time, and tools to fix it yourself. The manufacturer will send what ever pieces you need, yes, but not necessarily at the same time. Please note that fixing a broken chair is much harder than assembling a new one with an Allen Wrench. Have you ever had to remove the gas cylinder from the base of the chair? Ideally you'll need a rubber mallet, WD-40, and a large wrench. Then you'll need to slam the mallet on the base until the cylinder dislodges. IF it dislodges which mine has not. Sounds like fun? It's not. In addition the chair is now in pieces all over my small apartment while I wait another 24 hour cycle to hear the next steps from the Customer Service people in Asia. Likely they will want to send a new base which will take 5 to 7 days to arrive. Normally this type of thing doesn't phase me. But the price point for this chair (I paid over $200) raised my expectations that I might be getting some slightly higher quality than cheaper chairs. My expectations were misplaced. It's an okay chair with a design flaw (the cylinder is likely too narrow to support the chair properly). Customer Service may be well intentioned but are unprepared to resolve quality issues with any speed. Move on and buy one of the hundreds of other chairs on Amazon.

I had purchased a similar chair from a different company that I had to return because they didn’t send the right bolts and it was impossible to assemble (an unfortunately long and frustrating process). I was a bit apprehensive to try again with this company, but I just couldn’t find another chair style that I liked more (no wheels, no arms, comfortable looking, supportive back, swivels, etc). SO glad I went ahead and ordered this chair. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. They included extra bolts and washers, which I didn’t need, but I’m glad to have “just in case.” They also included a pair of gloves, which you should definitely use because the bolts/washers are a bit greasy — the gloves prevent the chair from getting dirty during assembly. Initial thoughts? The chair is comfortable, looks great, and works perfectly (360 degree swivel, sturdy base, easy to use hydraulic lift). The material is a nice quality, the color is neutral and what I was hoping for, and everything is clean and in great condition. A note: to lift the chair you have to put the lever in the unlock position and press the lever forward to engage the lift. You can’t be sitting on the chair when you do this (if you’re sitting on the chair the same steps will lower the chair). So, so, so happy do finally have a nice desk chair for my office. Thank you!
